Meet Sarah Tromley | Singer Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Tromley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
Hi!! I’m a Pacific Northwest native. I grew up on Lake Oswego, and that has had a deep impact on who I am. Music was always a part of my life. I was one of those toddlers who could sing before I talked, and I booked my first musical before I could read. That aside, I was still super shy! I didn’t really find my footing until after high school when I moved to LA. In 2022, I found out I had Lyme disease. It was the best and worst thing that ever happened to me. After that, I no longer related to my old music and my old brand. I craved authenticity. I wanted my fans to get to know the REAL me, so Rexford was born.
Rexford is a symbolic representation of the place that allowed me to heal and grow: my home on Rexford Drive. My new EP is a collective of songs that truly came from my heart. I have found the beauty in the imperfect moments that shape us and leave scars that create who we are. I have found healing in looking in the mirror and sitting in silence with my inner child. I have found purpose in learning how to grow again in my late 20s; always healing, never healed.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think the beauty of being a creative is there are no new ideas; but so many ways to make ideas your own and put your own personal spin on it. I love the team I have cultivated. When in the studio, the most important thing to me is trust and vibe. I am so lucky to have found a group of talented individuals whom I trust to my core to create magic with. Without the trust, there truly would not be a safe space to share some of my deepest and most vulnerable stories. In those intimate moments, ego goes out the door and you can truly weave together words to create songs that are from the heart. That is why my new EP is called, “Clear My Heart”; because these songs had to be written to be set free. Writing and releasing music is so therapeutic.
Finding my team was not easy. I learned a lot along the way.
A few statements I live by…
I truly believe everything happens for a reason, and nothing good comes easy.
It takes many years to build a reputation and one second to ruin one.
Be kind to everyone; you never know who may be your boss one day.
I think this EP is really a Polaroid of feelings rather than an image of glamour.
This evolution of creating Rexford has really helped me get back to the core of me.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
