We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Wesley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I had always known I wanted a life of freedom and exploration though I hadn’t imagined I’d be able to merge these passions into a sustainable career. After having a transformative and deeply spiritual experience in the Nile in Aswan Egypt, I decided to stay and live in Egypt. Traversing paths unknown and meeting incredible souls all over the land, the idea to bring people together in community and shared space came about. The initial idea was simply to do one curated experience across three cities in Egypt and that blossomed into a full collective of international retreats, community offerings with healers from around the world and immersive experiences in ancient wisdom, education and wellness. It started with following my curiosities and led to places I couldn’t have dreamed.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I enjoy using the mediums of movement, sound and prose to create immersive wellness experiences. My curiosities lead me to themes of consciousness, ancient wisdom, mythology and mindfulness. Following a creative or unknown path is never easy but it’s worth it. I believe obstacles and challenges are part of the journey and navigating them is what makes us stronger. I like to take challenges and think of them as opportunities for new reflections and art. This keeps me going. The greatest lesson I’ve learned is to keep going.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If we were in Mississippi, where my roots are, I would take them to Shuckers for live music, the Natchez Trace Trail for walking and a scenic view, drive through the backroads and enjoy views of farms, horses and beautiful greenery and then end the trip at McClains that has a self-drive safari and great food.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to honor my mother because she has been the most incredible superhero in my life. I am eternally grateful for her wisdom, grace, selflessness and all the ways she has taught me to care for myself. Between her free spirit that inspired me to travel and follow my dreams, her words of affirmation from childhood to now and the way she has poured love into me is primordial. She is a mentor of the heart, a best friend and a guiding force in my life. I love you Mama!
