Meet Sasha Massacre | Model & Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sasha Massacre and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sasha, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve never seen myself perusing a conventional career, I’ve always been an artsy person. I always loved to draw, sing, and write. Modeling is a form of self-expression for me and being able to turn my passions into a career is the most wonderful thing and an insane privilege.
Every creative shoot I do symbolizes something, there’s meaning behind it. And I love to see how other people interpret their own feelings into my work.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Nothing about creative work is linear.
It’s hard to say exactly how I got to where I am today, and it’s also hard to say what I’m the most proud of. I’ve been working within both the modeling and music industries for a decade now. I’ve worked with some of my childhood heroes, I travel, and get to collaborate with the best people and work on very special projects.
As much as I’d love to say it’s been easy, there’s always challenges. But, it creates growth.
It’s super important to have an open mind while also maintaining firm boundaries. And as cliche as it may sound, ALWAYS stay true to yourself. That is also how you’ll overcome the challenges.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Everybody in my life inspires me in different ways. I can’t say as I’ve ever had any particular mentor- however I’m surrounded by some of the most creative, hard-working people, many of which I have collaborated and worked with, along with forming very strong and meaningful friendships. We all learn things from each other and I think that’s really special.
Not many people know this, but I used to attend some music business seminars, because that was always the main industry I wanted to work in, because music is my first love. Those seminars taught me so much that I bring into everything I do today, because a lot of it of course had to do with marketing.
Another thing that’s always stuck with me, is in the early days of my career, a vendor I met who I later worked with at a convention was chatting with me, and as I was leaving he said “You have such a great attitude, that’ll get you very far, don’t ever change that.”
I think about it all the time- and he’s right.
