We had the good fortune of connecting with Savannah Hamilton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Savannah, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
Go to college, get a “good” job with a 401K, paid vacation, benefits, then buy a house and get married. Blah, Blah, Blah… you know the “American Dream” we are fed in school to bring us ultimate career, financial and personal fulfillment. Not that there is anything wrong with this trajectory, the problem is when we believe that is our ONLY option and fail to find happiness or fulfillment within it. We begin to live in discord with what we were taught to expect out of life, to what we are actually experiencing. Our opportunities in life are infinite. I too was once victim in believing the aforementioned was the *only* way I could succeed and find happiness in life, the problem was, when I got there, I was far from happy or fulfilled. The sense of “security” we once strived for as adults in the workforce, doesn’t fit with todays modern age where we have the world at our finger tips, infinite possibilities exists and are able to work from anywhere. Shifting gears and leaping into entrepreneurship hasn’t been easy, and heck, it hasn’t always been fun. But trying to force myself into a model of success that didn’t work for me was torture. At the time, I didn’t know the steps I needed to take to find exactly what I was looking for or what I was business venture I was going to create. I remember disliking my job as a Nurse Practitioner, but feeling frozen because I didn’t believe I had any other options than to work in a hospital, as a Nurse Practitioner the rest of my life. All, which I know now, is complete BS. There are limitless pathways and roads to take you where you want to go in life, my advice would be, instead of following someone else’s, you take a moment to pause and dig deep to find out what is really important to you and makes YOU the most happy and fulfilled, then go after it with all you got.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m a previous Critical Care Nurse Practitioner, turned serial entrepreneur, I host once in a life time, bucket list Masterminds for entrepreneurs. These aren’t your typical run of the mill Masterminds. These Masterminds are unlike any Masterminds you may have been to or heard of, I promise you! These Masterminds are for 6 to 7 figure entrepreneurs that are working too damn much (because they love what they do and don’t consider it work) and aren’t taking the time to have amazing experiences around the world with an incredible tribe of people. I pull you out of the ordinary and stick you into extraordinary new experiences that are specifically designed to elevate your thinking and to give you new ideas. I know my greatest ideas don’t come when I’m sitting at my desk or when I’m in a stuffy conference room listening to anooother boring speech. (How many notebooks do you have collecting dust from events like these?) In order to create and even BIGGER IMPACT and BIGGER INCOME, high level people collaborate with each other over a glass of champagne, sailing on a catamaran in Montenegro or at an intimate dinner. These experiences are the exact ones I recreate, designed to elevate your thinking and shift your perspective on what is possible. We have some coming up in incredible places around the world, Cappadocia, Turkey, Mykonos, Greece, Marrakesh, Morocco. Places you’ve dreamed of going, I take you there! I discovered in my early 20’s that I didn’t want to work my life away, put all my money in my retirement fund and wait until I was 60 to be able to travel or to experience life on my own terms. Meaning having the freedom of time and money to do what I want, that wasn’t going to work for me. Who knows if we even will live till we are 60? What if you or I die tomorrow? The present is all we have and I decided 15 years ago that I was going to live the most fulfilled life now and if I die tomorrow, I would have no regrets. So, that’s how I set up my life and business, around those core values. I created these Masterminds as an extension of my love of travel, but most importantly helping others live a life of fulfillment, happiness and freedom too. I believe you deserve success in all areas of life, not just your business…. and news flash you don’t have to wait till you’re 60 years old to have it! My motto, “the more fun you have, the more money you make.” What sets myself and my Mastermind attendees apart from the rest? Tenacity, grit, grace and a whole lot of figuring it out as we go. We seek immediate action. We’re not ones to sit around and wait for things to happen, instead, we make things happen. When you wait, you give time for your inner critic to start creeping in and keep you playing small. How do we keep our inner critics at bay? These Masterminds create a close knit network of high level friends, we are each others family. Here to support, encourage and push each other to our edges to achieve greatness. You not only get to experience a freaking incredible trip in exotic locations across the globe, one you might not book on your own – that has every detail curated to leave you inspired and elevate your thinking- and because of this, you have next level conversations that quickly create momentum to create an even bigger impact and as a results the income follows. This waterfalls into freedom and fulfillment in your life and business that is unparalleled to anything you’ve ever experienced before. – JACK POT if you ask me!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh my goooooodness- where do we even begin? One of the reasons I love living in LA is you have such diversity, at your finger tips. Korean BBQ – you got it! Mountains, beach, snow, sand… within a matter of a short drive to a quick road trip you can literally do whatever you want. I’m a BIG foodie, from the moment I wake up till right before I go to bed there isn’t a moment I’m thinking about food, maybe this is a problem? (I’ll save that for another day) So naturally it makes sense to start with the food scene…
Best Italian: Cecconi’s West Hollywood Best Ramen: Slurpin’ Ramen Bar Best Vegan: The Butcher’s Daughter Best American: SALT Restaurant and Bar or Home Restaurant in Los Feliz Best Brunch: The Ivy Trendy: Catch LA Classy Cocktail Lounge: Beauty & Essex Casual Beachfront Cocktails: The Waterfront Venice
Not sure what you’re in the mood for? Swing by Grand Central Market in Little Tokyo, this place is sure to have something for everyone’s palate. Another thing I love about living in LA is within the sprawling city, you are still so close to nature. And if the city life occasionally sucks too much of the life out of you and you need to get lost in nature, LA has a plethora of hikes from beginner to advance level all within a short drive. Some of my favorites are: Temescal Canyon‘s loop trail offers a steep, shaded canyon or a more gradual sunny ascent. It also features a seasonal waterfall, strange rock formations, and stunning coastal views – all right at the Westside’s doorstep. Santa Anita Canyon is probably the most beautiful river canyon in Southern California. This stellar loop winds through a canyon dotted with historic cabins and two waterfalls, including 50-foot Sturtevant Falls. While the falls can be crowded, the trail above the falls is idyllic and serene, the canyon floors covered in ivy. There are several campsites here and junctions with longer trails – and you won’t be able to believe you’re in Southern California. Runyon Canyon this famous trail is located right in the middle of the city and is good for all levels. Plus with the occasional celebrity spotting, this is a top pick for people hoping to get a glimpse at their favorite movie stars. If you’re looking to get out of the city for a little road trip, I recommend driving up Highway 1. The coastline is absolutely stunning and pretty soon, it doesn’t even feel like you are in the US anymore as you wind the jagged edges of the cliffs overlooking the ocean. Be sure to make a quick pit stop to see the elephant seals too, they’re always one of my favorites. If you’re feeling really spontaneous you can actually leave the US, drive South and in just around 3 hours, you’re in Mexico. San Diego is another one of my personal favorites. I lived there for 5 years and plan on moving back this year, so I am a little biased, but let’s not let that overshadow how awesome of a city it is! San Diego has a completely different vibe and feel than LA, so if you’re looking for a more laid back, relaxed vibe with plenty of opportunities to soak up the sun, this is a must stop.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
