Meet Scottie

We had the good fortune of connecting with Scottie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Scottie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
To be honest, I’ve always struggled with the idea of working under someone else’s guidance and conforming to a traditional 9-to-5 structure. I’ve found that my creativity and productivity thrive when I’m given the freedom to think outside the box and bring my unique perspective to the table. Starting my own business was a way for me to break free from the constraints of a conventional work environment and tap into my full potential.
I’ve also always been drawn to fields that allow me to express myself creatively and bring new ideas to life. I believe that entrepreneurship offers the perfect blend of innovation, risk-taking, and self-expression, which aligns perfectly with my passions and strengths.
By starting my own business, I aimed to create a space where I could combine my creative vision with my drive for independence, allowing me to build something truly authentic and meaningful. It’s been a challenging yet rewarding journey so far, and I’m excited to see where this path takes me
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
BRBN MEDIA is more than just a media company – it’s a movement. We’re dedicated to amplifying the voices and stories of the Black community in Los Angeles, and showcasing the city’s vibrant culture to the world. What sets us apart is our commitment to authenticity and community-driven storytelling. We’re not just reporting on the news – we’re creating it.
I’m most proud of the impact we’ve had on the cultural landscape of Los Angeles. From highlighting local artists and entrepreneurs to sparking important conversations around social justice, we’ve become a go-to platform for those seeking fresh perspectives and inspiring stories.
Getting to where we are today wasn’t easy. I faced numerous challenges, from securing funding to building a loyal audience. But I overcame them by staying true to my vision, surrounding myself with a talented team, and being willing to take calculated risks.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is the power of community. By building a loyal following and engaging with our audience, we’ve created a loyal ecosystem that drives our success.
I want the world to know that SBRBN MEDIA is more than just a media company – it’s a symbol of what’s possible when you combine passion, creativity, and a commitment to community. We’re not just telling stories – we’re changing the narrative. And we’re just getting started.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh, man! If my best friend was visiting LA, I’d want to show them the ultimate West Coast experience! Here’s my dream itinerary for a week-long trip:
Day 1: Beverly Hills Vibes
– Brunch at Wally’s in Beverly Hills (their avocado toast is a must-try!)
– Shopping on Rodeo Drive (even if it’s just window shopping, it’s an experience!)
– Dinner at The Ivy (a classic LA spot with amazing food and people-watching)
Day 2: Downtown LA Exploration
– Lunch at Joey in DTLA (their pizza is fire!)
– Exploring the Street Art scene in the Arts District
– Drinks at Perch (a rooftop bar with sick views of the city)
Day 3: Beach Day
– Malibu Beach, baby! We’d soak up the sun, play some volleyball, and enjoy the scenic views
– Dinner at Nobu Malibu (because, sushi and ocean views)
Day 4: LA Function Party
– We’d hit up the LA Function party (it’s a summer staple in LA – think live music, good vibes, and dancing all night)
– After-party at a secret speakeasy (because, why not?)
Day 5: Relaxation Day
– Spa day at The Now Massage (because we need some self-care)
– Lunch at The Original Farmers Market (a LA institution with so many food options)
Day 6: Cultural Experiences
– Visit the Broad Museum (their contemporary art collection is incredible)
– Dinner at Night + Market Song (a unique Thai food experience)
Day 7: Brunch and Beach
– Brunch at The Griddle Cafe (their pancakes are insane!)
– Last beach day at Santa Monica Pier (we’d ride the Ferris wheel and play some games)
That’s my dream itinerary for showing my best friend an epic time in LA! We’d eat, drink, dance, and soak up the sun in style
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to the two people who have been my rock, my guiding light, and my unwavering support system throughout my journey – my parents, Deanna Good and Sean Eubanks. Their selfless sacrifices, unconditional love, and constant encouragement have played a pivotal role in shaping me into the person I am today.
From the countless times they’ve offered a listening ear, to the sacrifices they’ve made to provide for our family, to the unwavering belief they’ve had in my abilities – their influence has been immeasurable. They’ve taught me the value of hard work, resilience, and determination, and have been a constant source of inspiration and motivation.
I’m grateful for the late nights, early mornings, and endless hours they’ve invested in helping me achieve my dreams. I’m thankful for their guidance, wisdom, and unwavering support. And I’m so proud to have them as my parents.
This shoutout is just a small token of my appreciation for everything they’ve done for me. I hope it serves as a reminder that their love, support, and sacrifices have not gone unnoticed, and that I’m forever grateful to have them in my life.
