Meet Sean McBride | Producer, Writer & Comedian

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sean McBride and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sean, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting our own business was more out of necessity than anything else. My producing and writing partner, Michael Greene and I were working together on various different projects, but it eventually reached a point where the work was outgrowing what we were capable of doing on our own. Once we started doing larger scale projects, involving more people working with us, it became apparent we needed to actually have a business that would act as an umbrella over everything we were doing.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I guess what sets me apart from others is that I have a good balance of what I need, but also what the people that I’m working with also need. In every conversation I have, I always try and see things from the other person’s perspective beforehand, and try to find ways of incorporating that into whatever my overall goal is. No matter what I’m doing I always want it to be collaborative and the people I’m working with to have the same sense of ownership of the project that I have. We win together. Always.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The 25-year old version of myself would take them to Cabo Cantina for 2 for 1 happy hour in Venice that afternoon, followed by karaoke at the Gas Light in Santa Monica that night, and then back to the apartment afterwards for hookah and more beverages. A good time, every time. The only problem with that is, the 40 year old version of myself gets terrible hangovers and can’t function the next day. I’ve got too much stuff going on to let booze blues Sundays happen anymore. Therefore, these days, I’d have them come park in my driveway in Hermosa Beach, we’d pop my daughter in the stroller and we’d head down to Pier Ave and hit up George Lopez’s Brews Hall for chicken sandwich’s and Rat Beach Red Ale’s, then head on down to the sand, so my baby girl can yell, “Ball, Ball, Ball” at all the volleyball players. We’ll follow that up with a round of waters at the house, before bedtime. My how things have changed.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shout out to my favorite mentors. Comedian Vic Dunlop, may he Rest In Peace, Actor Danny Mora, affectionately known on film and television sets across Los Angeles as, “The Mora Monster”, and last, but certainly not least, Writer and Producer Chuck Rosin, who grew up in Beverly Hills and is the man responsible for everyone in America knowing their own zip code, and of course, the big one, 90210.
