We had the good fortune of connecting with Sebastian Alvarado Perdomo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sebastian, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I believe that risk plays a fundamental role in achieving success. Throughout my life and career, I’ve embraced the idea that taking risks is a sign of being driven and dedicated to accomplishing my goals. The willingness to step out of my comfort zone, explore new possibilities, and face uncertainties has been a crucial factor in my personal and professional growth.

I see risk as a pathway to innovation and learning. It’s not just about avoiding failure but understanding that setbacks are opportunities to gain valuable insights and adapt for future success. By taking calculated risks, I’ve been able to overcome challenges, build resilience, and develop the confidence needed to tackle ambitious goals.

Opportunities are often intertwined with risk, and I’ve learned to recognize and seize them even when they come with uncertainty. The journey toward success involves making decisions that may not always have clear outcomes, but it’s the ability to navigate these uncertainties that sets the stage for significant achievements

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

I’m an Actor here in Los Angeles, but unlike many, my pursuit of a career in acting isn’t fueled by the desire for money or fame. Acting is my source of joy; it’s the one thing that makes me feel complete, and I know I could do it for a lifetime without hesitation. While the journey hasn’t been overly challenging so far, I understand that graduating from college was just the first step. Now, as I enter the more demanding phase of my career, discipline and consistency play a pivotal role in achieving success.

My dream may still seem distant, but I am fully aware of the commitment required to make it a reality. I’m ready to face and overcome all the challenges that lie ahead. Life has taught me that nothing worthwhile comes easy. If you truly want something, you’ve got to pursue it relentlessly. It only takes one opportunity to turn dreams into reality, but you must be present and prepared to seize it, giving it your best shot. That’s why giving up is not an option for me. I’ll patiently wait for that chance, and when it comes, I’ll grab it by the horns and refuse to let it slip away.

I aspire for others to look at me and realize that it’s possible for international students like myself to make it in the business, even when faced with numerous obstacles. I want to be a living example that the key ingredient for success is an unwavering desire to achieve it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My friends visited a few months ago, and we had an amazing time exploring Los Angeles together. Throughout their stay, I was determined to ensure they got the full LA experience. Of course, I took them to iconic places like the Hollywood Sign, a must-see in Los Angeles. However, I also wanted to show them less touristy spots, so we ventured into Korea Town for a delicious Korean BBQ experience.

Given the significance of drinks and nights out in Dominican culture, I made sure to take them to some lively spots around LA. A night out in Hollywood is always a guarantee for a good time, and what screams LA more than enjoying drinks next to the Walk of Fame?

Our adventure also included road trips to the beach. We explored picturesque places like Malibu and Manhattan Beach, soaking in the sun and the California vibes. To cap off their visit, we even headed to Vegas for a few days. While not technically part of Los Angeles, the road trip from California to Nevada added an unforgettable layer to our experience. Driving through the desert with friends is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
So, before diving into this whole Los Angeles adventure, I was pretty freaked out about moving to a new country by myself to chase dreams in one of the trickiest industries out there. It was all thanks to my mom and sister pushing me that I took the leap, and now, I’m here today.

But let me tell you, what’s made this ride truly awesome is the amazing bunch of friends I’ve found in LA. Shoutout to my mom and sis for getting me started, but these friends have turned this experience into something way beyond what I expected. They’ve become like a second family, turning this journey into a wild, enriching ride.

Moving to a new place solo can get lonely, but these friends? They’ve made every day feel like a party. They’re not just random people I know – they’re the kind of friends who get you, who share the same dreams and passions. Big love to Daniel Alejandro, Ahmad Zalan, Adam Khattar, Enrique Garcia, Aayush Yadav, Guglielmo Cheso, and a whole bunch more. These guys have been more than pals; they’ve been like life coaches, turning tough moments into chances to learn and grow.

These friendships have shown me that success isn’t just a solo journey; it’s about the crew you roll with. It’s about celebrating each other’s wins and having each other’s backs when things get messy. So, here’s to friends who’ve turned this adventure into something epic—they’ve made the journey as awesome as the destination.
