We had the good fortune of connecting with Seed Holden and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Seed, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
I guess it would be something like “Just finish the race!”. Because if you never finish the race you can never win. Whatever winning means to you. Of course, everything under the presumption that you love the race you are running and that you are ready to bleed on the tracks. If there’s no love in it, it just doesn’t make sense 🙂

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think I am most proud of the honesty that can be found in my music expression. Sometimes it can go that far that it makes me feeling uncomfortable once the music is being released. But the fact that I was simply honest when I wrote and recorded a certain piece soothes that discomfort that may come afterwards. Honestly, I don’t think something sets me apart from others. In that way I guess I am just another brick in the wall of strumming, melancholic singer-songwriters but I fucking love it and I would die for it. That is me, that is my life and if someone resonates with what I am trying to say that is amazing 🙂

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would probably take them for a nice, relaxing and long beer walk. Berlin is popular for “Spati” stores (those one that are open either 24 hours or they operate till the wee hours) that are located pretty much all around the place so we might take a “Spati Beer Tour” and experience as many neighbourhood vibes as we could. A little JBL speaker would make us company, playing some nice tunes. When we would get tired, we would hop on the public transportation, probably the “Ring Bahn” – that would be a train line that riders non-stop in circle and can give you a nice city perspective. And then, along the way, we would make a list of possible places to eat, drink or whatever. The city is just too big to write all the possibilities here 😀

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would say my whole Family, close friends & music acquaintances. Then again specifically my mom and my dad who were always keeping our home filled with music when I was a kid. I think that was really important in forming my personality and affinity towards music. My dad would always bring the CD’s and cassettes and my mom would be always humming something along the way. After all, this whole life of ours is a big network of billions & billions of people passing through and making an impact – some of them leave a bigger trace and some of them a bit smaller – but we are all undeniably intertwined. So what could be a better inspiration than this? Life is so big and so beautiful that literally everything you meet on your way is possible to be turned into an inspiration. We just need to keep our eyes opened and our senses sharpened. Street is my office.
