We had the good fortune of connecting with Seth Origitano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Seth, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I had to.

Throughout my life, I have done a Alloooooot of jobs. I discovered the only way to create any internal harmony is to find work that enriches my life. I”ve lived below the margin in many different ways. Once I became an artist I was wealthy for the first time. My wealth just wasn’t in money.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I got to were I am today by being curious, punctual, and hard-working. In many of the groups I am now a part of I started as volunteer. I made sure to be the first one to show up and the last one to leave. This work ethic gained me alot of access to new people and creative opportunities.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I have hosted a few friends in LA in the last 4 years I have lived here. Alot of them are from the Midwest, so the first place I like to take them is to Topanga Canyon for hiking and sightseeing. Then I take them to the hidden gems of LA, Bob bakers marionette theater, jumbos clown room, and the last book store.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Dean Evans,

They are a wonderful LA based clown. They were my first clown teacher back in Chicago and got me started on my journey.

Charlie Dando,

An LA based dancer who has been my clown partner for many years

Corrin Beattie

Another LA based clown, who is my business partner in my large scale immersive builds.
