Meet Shake Baby | Pole instructor and entertainer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shake Baby and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shake, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process was just that . Thought . When I decided that I wanted to teach pole fitness & suspension to beginner dancers who were emerging into the industry I did not have an ounce of seriousness in my body . I truly had no idea where to start .I didn’t have an investor , I didn’t have any money saved up and I didn’t have the luxuries of getting a loan from my middle class family members. What gave me the ignition to start and organize my business was desire . The more that I leveled up in the entertainment industry the more I realized what I had to offer . I couldn’t help but notice the need for routine and presentation of skills .I decided build a studio in my apartment, thus forwarding launching of my business . PoleFly . Now each student who completed my course are now 4x more confident and more strikingly talented than they were before . Usually their income increases too .

What should our readers know about your business?
PoleFly presented by Shake had been a long time coming . You know the saying , a photograph is worth a thousand words ? A person wouldn’t look at my business and realize that it was completely built , brick by brick all in result of my personal life story .
When I started dancing cabaret I was in a financial crisis and I contemplated the thought of it like everyone else . how I wish I had someone to guide me into the profession . I would have realized the benefits of practicing pole suspension. I would have sooner realized that pole dancing is also a sport and can be marketed as not only an excercise routine but also a fun activity meant to bring couples closer together in their relationships.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well for starters , I would plan an amazing day , bestie and I would get some good eats LA has some of the best vendors and tacos in the country .I’m a Cancer so I love the water , we’d definitely hit the beach with my metal detectors searching strictly for items like lost tennis bracelets and engagement rings by the sunset. I’m all about a profit . Followed by roller rink skating at sofi stadium . As an entertainer ,I do a lot of hostings , We’d likely wind down the night with some good music and vibes at the Dragonfly . One of the most exciting things to do in Los Angeles is to network have a conversation with an entrepreneur who is working successfully at the same thing you are doing , take a workshop that motivates you , and before you know it you’ll have taken your next step towards your own success.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
For me I would like to thank the countless individuals that poured words of encouragement into me . The ones who reminded me they were proud of my integrity and determination, only fueling me to become the better person I am today . I will look back on it one day and I will be so grateful that I listened.
