Meet Shatora Adrell | Celebrity Fashion Designer & Fashion Stylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shatora Adrell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shatora, looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
The most difficult decision I ever had to make was quitting my corporate job to pursue my dream. I had no backup plan on how I was going to eat or pay bills. All I knew was becoming a Fashion Designer and Stylist was what I wanted to do.
Yes, the story sounds cliche but everyone walk in life is different. People always tell you that a creative job (stylist, photography, modeling) is not a real job until you begin making movement but no one speaks about being hidden for months and years to perfect your craft. No one speaks about all the tears, constant no’s, going some days without eating, praying, wanting to give up, just trying to achieve your dream.
However, I love telling my story to let others know they are not alone. I love helping others achieve their dreams, even though I am not where I want to be, yet. We shouldn’t wait till we “reach success” to finally help someone else, NO! If God can’t trust you with little, how will he trust you with much.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What I am most proud about or excited about is that I didn’t give up. I am proud of every photoshoot, every award show, everyone I have came across in my journey. Without each one, I wouldn’t be where I am at today.
Lessons I have learned along the way is to stick by your word. I learned that NO’s are actually YES’s somewhere else. Not to take things personally and just to keep moving. More importantly, take care of yourself. No one knows you better than you do yourself.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is crazy because my best friend and I do try new spots but we always end up at one resturant. To have a good time for a celebration, I would say Mama Por Dios. A cute brunch, Aline, HOME and Blu Jam Cafe. SN: I am a brunch girl all day. It is something about dressing up, going to a cute restaurant and having brunch with friends.
I also love hiking, museums, to help with creativity. Did I mention, I am a foodie! I love food! LOL!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to thank God, my parents and my inner circle. I truly could not, can not make it without them. God, for not leaving me through all I have done. My parents who encouraging me to go after what I truly wanted to do and fully supporting through it all and my inner circle: They cheered me on when I was not emotionally available. They cheered me on, of course, when I was at my highest; however, find those that will be there for you on both ends. They all constantly remind me of my why and my purpose.
