We had the good fortune of connecting with Shawn Foxx and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shawn, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
The end goal is to create a legacy that doesn’t end and inspire many generations to come. I want to inspire people to increase their self worth and learn how to move like a chameleon in an ever changing industry. I want to become living proof that anyone can achieve wealth from their own creations.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from other artist is my ability to read the room and shift what is necessary to make a difference. I’ve accomplished my 10,000 hours in music and now I’m expanding my talents in different forms of art. I’m excited about the projects that I’m working on this year. I got DZIGNERHEAVEN (a clothing brand), ZINCLUBHOUSE (creative studio), media podcast/film projects (UNPLUG WORLD) and a new album in the works called “LA BLUES” I’m releasing under Shawn Foxx. I got to this point professionally by staying positive, working with resources that’s available, collaboration with like minded people and work ethic. I’m still overcoming challenges daily but that’s where my grand ideas come from. My biggest lesson from the challenges is to look at each problem as a puzzle piece to the bigger picture. I want the world to know that I am a chameleon type of artist and there is no limit to my creativity. Ultimately through my cart and story I want people to feel.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to Joeys in DTLA for a drink and food to start off the night, Afterwards I’ll take them to Broadway Bar to get things warmed up. Afterwards we’ll hit The Reserve or The Delfi to keep the ball rolling then hit Vuuka Lounge for some afro beat vibes.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First starters I want to shoutout my city (Compton) for helping me build character and better life for myself. I want to give my good friend/business partner Tarin Bai a shoutout for seeing my vision and helping me bring many projects to life throughout the years. From music production to starting our own media production UNPLUG WORLD. I want to shoutout Bee for her love and efforts to create a work life balance for me. I want to thank all of my family who continue to give small words of encouragement and feedback on where I can grow. Most importantly I want to thank God for blessing me with a worth ethic and a vision that got those in my life to see I am an inspiration.
