We had the good fortune of connecting with Shawn Grieve and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shawn, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
As small business owners I feel the one thing that the general public don’t understand is the amount of work that goes on behind scenes… Set up, displays, inventory, pricing, photos, advertising, making reels, bookkeeping, just to name a few.
Our work doesn’t stop at 5pm. It’s 24 7
Worth it? Absolutely

What should our readers know about your business?
For years I’ve wanted to have my own business, a quaint little joint where locals could shop enjoy the aesthetic and visual effects.. Marriage and children came first..My little dream sat on the back burner till 2020…
In 2015/16 I went to a fleamarket and saw my future.. They had vintage trailers and vendors and music. Beautiful day to just walk around. I came across a couple of redone trailers that had been turned into shops. The wheels in my head burst like fireworks.. I C A N DO THIS!!!!!

Still took a few more years but boy was it in bedded into my brain that this was going to happen. Manifesting is quit real.
So in 2020 I found a trailer and the work began. Tore it down.Rebuilt it. Designed it to fit my style.
Watching your vision come to life is incredible..
August of 2021 Opening Day!!!
Incredible.
I feel that what sets us apart is her appeal..(the shop)
She’s painted Black with a wood door..Very Urban Chic with a touch of Bohemian Woodsy Witchy feel. Cozy and earthy and Welcoming.
Style of Flowing dresses, multi purpose wear, with books, incense, jewelry etc. One stop shop that c a n come visit your city..
All I can say is through it all, it was worth the wait in line.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
L.A has so much to offer. I’d rent a Airbnb down in the area. Coffee in Pasadena at Coffee and Plants.. Cafe 27 in Topanga Canyon for breakfast.. Tour Griffith Observatory.. Hit up the beach Crystal Cove.
Night action..Swan Boats at Echo Park
Dinner at Flora rooftop in Elsegundo..
Rest a day then of course hit Disneyland.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Rob Grieve for helping me build Free Spirit Boutique and Hauling us everywhere.. Tracy Tate for her guidance and friendship.
Towns End Market in Apple Valley for giving me the opportunity to grow and be seen..

For my girls.. Never give up on a dream
