We had the good fortune of connecting with Shem Goltz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shem, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was to provide the best social media content creation services to creators and influencers around the world.

I want Goltz Media to be known as the go-to place when it comes to creating the highest quality content for social media platforms.

This includes video editing, animation, graphic design, filming, and so on.

The services are for any platform out there; Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitch, TIk Tok, and the list goes on…

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been in the social media industry since a very young age, creating content on YouTube. That was back in 2013-2014, and it was when I started to teach myself how to use all of these creative softwares that people use to edit videos, photos, and audio.

My parents really pushed me to start offering these services to social media influencers, and when I did it exploded overnight. I went from working with 1 to 2 small influencers to all of a sudden doing it full-time from home. It seems like every influencer I reached out to needed my services and it just took off like that.

Since then I have worked with the biggest influencers in the world, and the journey was not easy. There were some lessons I had to learn and honestly even to this day after working in the industry for many years, I still find myself evolving and becoming better at my craft.

I am excited for the next chapter of Goltz Media, and that is productions. Currently, there are two big projects I am developing within the social media space. They are both about to be signed with a big production company in Los Angeles and I cannot wait to see them on the big screen, and produce many more projects within this exciting space!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my friend to see all of my favorite places in Los Angeles. Some are obvious tourist-type places, while others are more of a hidden gem in the city. Here is a list of my favorite spots in no particular order:

– Rodeo Drive
– Cha Cha Matcha
– Melrose Avenue
– Venice Beach
– LACMA
– Universal Studios
– The Grove
– Sunset Boulevard
– Venice Canals
– Hollywood Walk of Fame

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shoutout to my parents for supporting me in pursuing this crazy and new industry. They have helped me a lot when it comes to running a business and facing problems that I have not faced before in my life. Their experience and feedback helped me get to where I am today so I feel like I owe them a lot of my success for that.
