We had the good fortune of connecting with Shenee Randolph and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shenee, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind the success of our movement is to be able to create a sense of community that lasts through generations. To be able to give to the less fortunate and to support other organizations with similar goals for minority businesses and communities.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We are a small networking, social group representing those of black and African American descent and our supporters in this 805. We work to create networks, events, and community involvement within the small population of Ventura County. We support different organizations that give back, as well as collaborations with colleges and universities in the area to promote growth and development of the our BIPOC youth.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to eat at Sweet Edna’s food truck for some awesome southern food or The Haven at White Sails for some tasty Caribbean food. I’d take them over to Levity live in the Collection for a good comedy show and of course if they’re around 2/20/23 they’d have lots of fun at the Black History Month Market at OPAC.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this Shout Out to my community in Oxnard Ca. Specifically, the small micro population of those of Black and African American descent. We see you, we love you, and we are here for you.
