We had the good fortune of connecting with Shunta Hutchins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shunta, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued a creative way to work because of my upbringing. I was not as fortunate as children around me and I believe life isn’t a one size fit all approach. You must be creative and think outside the box to reach different people on distinguished levels. My creativity inspires me as well as my community. It allows me to get out there and help give back in a positive way. Love Life Photo Booths L. A. , we believe in “Giving the Gift of Smiling”!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve been in the education realm of life for the past twenty years. Graduating with a B.S. degree in Child Development and a M.S. degree in Educational Leadership for Administration. I taught kindergarten through six grade for several years in Dallas, Texas. Moving to Los Angeles, California I had a bit of a role change as I began doing administrative duties. I became a director and worked for private owned pre-schools and then became the Lead Program Director for the YMCA. I’ve never been married to a position neither have I ever stopped learning to do new things. Today I am a Special Education Para Educator! I continue to help young kids differentiate their learning and development in life. In 2020 during Covid-19 I was unable to work. Things were shaky with schools being shut down and money was scarce. My husband initially mentioned I start a Photo Booth and I was hesitant. Although I had a distance friend who was in the business and she would tell me all about it. She branded “Love Life Photo Booths” originally in 2015 in Houston, TX. “Love Life Photo Booths L. A.” was branded in 2020. Business kicked off November, 2020 and it’s been all love from here. With the help of family and friends I’ve been on the rise these last past years. It was difficult starting a business of this nature during a pandemic. However my vision was too give the people something to smile about something to be happy going forward. We are a growing company and community. Love Life Photo Booths L.A. is owned and operated by my husband and I.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Let’s get into !!! Lol! A week long trip in Cali isn’t long enough. It’s so much fun and interacting things to do. Especially with me considering I’m a fun and creative person anyway. First thing we’re doing is going to a day spa. We love getting messages.. Beverley Hills is our go to spot at La Prairie Spa. We love brunching at Perch Rooftop and sipping on bottomless mimosas. Nonetheless, you can’t miss taking a stroll down Melrose! We’ve visited some of the most interesting places like the Cinema DTLA Rooftop movies; Catalina Island; Santa Monica Pier! It isn’t much we haven’t done but it’s taken multiple visits. Not to mention the A list actors, celebrities, NBA players we’ve seen. To name a few Jamie Foxx, Will Smith , Gabriel Union, LeBron James, HER, Zendaya, Tina Knowles, to name a few.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
“I just wanna be successful “, by Drake is the motto I live by! My family and friends are well aware of it. I’d like to thank my husband, Wendel Hutchins! Without him a lot could have been really difficult. He pushed me. He motivated me. Many times I did not believe in myself or my ability and he fussed at me. However , those things helped me most. Thank you to everyone who has supported and believed in me along this journey. A “Grateful” heart is a “Happy” heart!
