We had the good fortune of connecting with Simon Capponi Michael Lang and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Simon Capponi, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?

Dj Charcol (Simon Capponi) originally from Australia but now residing in the UK had a tough upbringing being brought up by a single parent (Mum) with not really having much in life. Everything was worked for and it was sometime a struggle to get food on the table at times. This has made me appreciate the small things in life and has given me the passion to push for greater heights in life.

Michael aka Dj Casper born and raised in the East of London. Growing up was tough at times living in London with not many opportunities arising for people from a poorer background now I have moved out of London and now live in the countryside with my two beautiful children and soon to be my wife. Since having kids it has changed the way I think and do things and has taught me not to take life too serious and to trust the process. I have struggled in the past with mental health but have got through the hard times and only think positive and have a good outlook on life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

The show has definitely taken us in a different direction from when we first started as we first took the concept of talking about current topics and hard hitting issues that impact the lives of UK residents.

The show started to gain viewers all over the globe who took an interest in the controversial issues that we talked about and an opportunity to interview Robbie Takac from the Goo Goo Dolls came about as he drives a great community project over in Buffalo USA that mixes Art and Music supporting upcoming artists and musicians.

We were so inspired from the interview and his project that we also wanted to help these new artists and that is when we came up with a concept to reach out to potential talented artists and producers across the globe through a social media platform inviting them to be a part of our show and interview them about their music.

After placing a post on a social media group, we received a massive response and received over 300 tracks from different genres and languages across the world.

After our first unsigned artist show, we quickly realised that we were dealing with very talented individuals who’s talent show be show cased everywhere.

The podcast was taking us to different levels and we soon found ourselves being asked to support these artist through the form of a media team and we were also fortunate to be asked to tour Switzerland with one of the artist we interview on her album launch. We were also asked to be the UK connection for distribution of US music into the UK music industry by a wellknown record label.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would take them to each of our cities that we live in Leeds and London. We would show them the history of these places and then take them to the local eateries to try traditional beers, food and companionship. Both of our cities are unique with London being the capital city ok UK and the central heartbeat of the country. you can live the lavish lifestyle there or sit back in a quiet pub/bar and get to know everyone.

Leeds is more traditional and you will find it hard to keep up with the accent but will have a solid time drinking and eating your way through tradition foods and locally made alcohol while partying till the early hours.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Would like to give a shout out to all of the artists that we have had on the show. All of them have helped up improve and shape the show. We do have our favourite artists that have blown us away with their talent but we won’t mention names hahaha Artists have made the show easy, successful and a whole heap of fun along the way.
Special shout out to the CRUZ band who we have just started working with, promoting and will soon start their gigs this August.
