We had the good fortune of connecting with Skyler Greyson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Skyler, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process for starting my own business was when I was working in a coffee shop and realized that I cant make a career out of any position working at a coffee shop, so I decided to do something on my own. Opening a coffee shop was out of the picture for me since I didn’t have any money, so I decided I wanted to get into catering. I prayed and asked God to open the doors if this was His will for me to do and all of the doors opened wide, so that is how I got to become a business owner.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am the owner of a Coffee Catering business located in Southern California called, Rugged Coffee. At Rugged Coffee, we offer a full Espresso Menu along with Hot French Pressed Coffee and Nitro Cold Brewed Coffee. We create our own flavors that you, the host, get to pick out for us to serve at your event. We also have upgrades to add on to the Espresso Catering, like our Made-From-Scratch Ice Cream and Affogato Bar where you get to choose the flavors of ice cream that we make fresh for your event. We also have an upgrade for those tea lovers, where we provide hot brewed loose leaf tea and cold brewed tea. We concentrate everything on quality, so the ingredients that we use will be top quality, but also the taste of each ingredient/ each drink is held to the highest standard.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to Orange County, namely Newport Beach, CA. There is so much to do there, from Balboa Island to Fashion Island, and not to mention the dining choices there. From Sushi to Mexican food to Korean BBQ, Newport has it all. If that didn’t fill the week, then I would take them down to San Clemente and Dana Point.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Of course, I couldn’t do anything without God speaking blessings into my life, so thank you Jesus Christ! I would also like to thank my girlfriend who has stood by me through the last 5 years through thick and thin, always supporting me and my business ventures. I couldn’t have done it without you Baisy!
