We had the good fortune of connecting with Slamz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Slamz, how do you think about risk?
Risk taking is essential to any pillar of personal success. If you don’t take the risk on something you want to try in life, you will only be left with a ‘what if’ down the road in life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a punjabi dj and music producer, my passion and drive is what sets me apart. I love what i do and everything about it. I got here thru simple principals: discipline and hard work. Making my craft a priority and not just something I do for the good almighty dollar.

Of course it wasn’t easy but the journey was fun and I wouldn’t replace it with anything else. The lesson I learned along the way was simple also. Listen to your gut instinct before you listen to anything or anyone else. People will tell you not to do you, but you always gotta do you bro!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I belive owe it to many people. My family, core group of friends, but also the people who inspired me to love punjabi music. If it wasn’t for Jazzy B i wouldn’t know what punjabi music was or is! And my percussion teacher – Lal Singh Bhatti who taught me my core rhythmic structure that got me going!
