Meet Sofia Pezeshk | Tattoo Artist/ Shop Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sofia Pezeshk and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sofia, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Starting our own business was a major risk—especially as immigrants without access to many of the resources others might take for granted, like business loans. On top of that, we launched in the aftermath of a global pandemic, during a time of serious economic uncertainty. But we believed in ourselves and in the vision we had. Taking that leap brought us something incredible—something that never would’ve existed if we had let fear of risk hold us back.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our studio is more than just a business—it’s the result of years of dedication, sacrifice, and belief in the power of art. As immigrants, my partner and I had to navigate countless barriers: from limited access to funding to building everything from scratch after a global pandemic. But what sets us apart is that we never compromised on quality or integrity. We created a space where clients feel safe, respected, and proud of the art they walk away with.
We got to where we are through persistence and purpose. There were no shortcuts. We poured our energy into mastering our craft, learning constantly, and putting our clients first. Every tattoo we do is treated as a unique, lasting piece of art—not just a job.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that passion without ego can take you far. Staying open to growth, embracing community, and being fearless in the face of risk has shaped both our business and our lives. I want the world to know that this isn’t just about ink—it’s about storytelling, trust, and leaving a mark that lasts forever.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Long Beach is an amazing City, for drinks I would take them to the “Good Bar”, for dining, “Open Sesame”. To see the under water world, I would take them to the Aquarium and also the beautiful beach.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my partner Mason both in life and in business. From day one, we’ve faced every challenge together, from navigating the struggles of being immigrants to building our own tattoo studio from the ground up. Their support, resilience, and shared vision have been the backbone of everything we’ve achieved. I also want to thank the clients who’ve trusted us with their skin and stories. Your belief in our work pushes us to grow and keep creating at the highest level. None of this would be possible without that trust and connection.
