We had the good fortune of connecting with Sojey Fernández and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sojey, what do you want your legacy to be?
My legacy and what I want people to remember me is for my resilience, for being a dreamer that never gave up in the face of obstacles. To show that no matter where you come from, no matter what happened in your past ,your traumas, your childhood, your current situation, your fears, the false perception that you have about yourself, you can heal and overcome anything if you really believe in yourself and most importantly if you believe in God.

I want people to remember me as a woman that follows her heart, follows her passion, who keeps fighting no matter how many times she may fail because she believes there’s something great out there for her.

I also want to inspire the younger generation to understand that they can dream as big as they want to. That in educating and investing in themselves and putting God at the center of their lives, they can conquer anything.

I want them to understand that they cannot compare themselves to other people or another person’s hardships. They need to love themselves for who they are and use their talent to make the difference.

I believe that everybody comes into this world with a purpose and a specific talent and when we get to know ourselves and love ourselves for who we are, we begin to see a lot of miracles happening in our lives.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
D&S Agency is a full-service creative agency established in 2014. We specialize in developing highly influential brands and are dedicated to helping to promote and build brands within our hispanic community.

As CEO and Creative Director, I have established myself as a Business Developer recognized by the U.S House Representative for my achievements as an outstanding Hispanic woman in the business community.

I am proud to say that my agency is recognized as a top logo design and marketing agency as well as a bilingual Advertising Consulting Agency M/WBE certified by New York City.

One of the biggest lesson that I have learned through my years in business is to be humble and understand that you don’t know it everything but every day is a new opportunity for learning to become better than yesterday.

I think the one of the reasons why I got where I am today, first is because I believe in God and he has the best for me second because I overcome my fears and keep trying , third because I’m always looking for a way to be better and Challenge myself.

I want the world to know that the limitations can be sometimes in our head I came to the United States when I was 20 years old without speaking the language leaving by myself , with a lot of dreams but not to know where to start and I went from cashier of the supermarket to have my own business to go through different work, different challenges.

They were a point of my life that I felt that I lost it all, I was heartbroken , physically and emotionally but I went back I start again.

I think if I can do it I know there’s other people out there that can do it as well, you just need to start believing on yourself today, today. Do it the world is waiting for you.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I will take her to central park because I love nature I will also take her to see a Broadway show.

I love restaurants under the water so I will definitely take her to the Hudson and to play tennis I love to do.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would definitely say my team at the agency they have supported me so much my sister and the group of women that I have here in New York to support one another.
