We had the good fortune of connecting with Sophia Lorena and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sophia, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The most important lesson my career has taught me is to never attach my identity to a title. The titles, positions, salaries might change but that doesn’t make you any less or any more. We are also allowed to evolve our job today might not be the same as your job tomorrow. We are allowed to change our mind and explore different experiences.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a loan officer. It has been a journey to learn about the industry and break into the industry at a young age. I am grateful to have great trainers to support my development. It wasn’t easy getting a job. It was quite the learning curve. But, I was able to find my path and learn so much. My main goal with my brand the shit show of my twenties is to share the shit shows along with the successes. To be able to create a space so twenty somethings feel less alone during there shit show moments.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite restaurant is Pura Vita in Redondo Beach. They have amazing vegan pizza. I would take them to Trumps National Golf Course and we would go on a walk along the beach. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am incredibly lucky to have such a incredible mom who has always supported me and all my crazy ideas. She has been a light in my life and has helped me tremendously.
