Meet Sophie St. John | Recording Artist & Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sophie St. John and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sophie, what is the most important factor behind your success?
My brand absolutely would not be where it is now without honing in on the power of now. I easily could’ve let every opportunity that strengthened my career slip if I would’ve let fear or doubt dictate my goals. As someone who is constantly creating art, and generating new ideas, this is the greatest lesson that I have learned. Every successful business is a product of perseverance. When we act presently on what we believe, it eliminates the time we’ll take to overthink ourselves out of the most crucial moments in our careers.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I care immensely about all people. We were all given talents to fulfill the betterment of humankind. Our world is suffering right now in a million different shades, and all I want to do is influence joy and self-empowerment for all people. In June 2020, I released my first single ‘Feeling Hope’ during an extremely dark time for the world. I received message from a fan explaining that they has been feeling hopeless and wanted to end it all, and they listened to ‘Feeling Hope’ and that moment saved them making the worst decision a person could ever make. This is the proudest moment in my career thus far. What sets me apart from others is that I don’t pursue this career for myself. I do this for the influence I can provide to make people want to live again.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’re taking an adventure! Runyon Canyon, and the Griffith Observatory are my favorite places to hike. Blue Daisy at Palihotel on Melrose and Hugo’s in West Hollywood are fabulous for brunch. Le Petit Four has the best brunch in the city, but it’s only on the weekends. If you’re visiting, I’m definitely taking you to Santee Alley in the Fashion District. On Tuesday there’s a Jazz Night at Bar Lis that is magnificent. Nightlife is the best. The best nights of your life are at Laurel Hardware, Good Times at Davey Waynes, Mercado on 3rd and the Intercontinental downtown.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Firstly, I wouldn’t be standing today without faith. I truly believe that every moment that I have been thru has prepared me for the toughest moments in my career. I have to give credit to everyone I’ve ever crossed paths with in this life. From my family thats grown by my side to people I will see again.
