We had the good fortune of connecting with Sophy Hon & Robert Rice and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sophy Hon, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Work-life balance is so important to daily living. It’s one of the most difficult things to do…but it must be done. Having our own home-bakery business makes it a bit more challenging and it was definitely hard in the beginning. It took some time to adjust, but we did it. Besides baking, Robert and I love being outdoors. Whatever little time we have, we’ll go biking, hiking, sunset chasing, or even a quick scenic drive. So balancing work-life and personal-life is crucial for us.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
At Chasing Pastries, our goal is quality and customer satisfaction. It gives us great pleasure to see that our customers are happy with the quality of our work and flavor of our products.
Starting a business is not easy. How we got to where we are today, took a lot of hard work and commitment.
In the beginning, it’s always rough and just trying to balance everything out can take time…But Robert and I, we both eventually learn to balance our work-life/personal-life all together. It took some time, but we did it.
Working hard and staying committed is very important to achieve your goals…but always remember to take a break, breathe and enjoy life.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Living in SoCal, we have many options/choices for entertainment. Definitely we are heading to the coastline area for beautiful scenery.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We have gotten this far thanks to the ongoing love and support in our lives.
We would like to give a shoutout to our family, all of our friends, and customers who have given us the opportunity and supported us since the beginning of Chasing Pastries. We appreciate every one of you!
