We had the good fortune of connecting with Sormeh Attarzadeh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sormeh, how do you think about risk?
As I look back on my life and career, I can’t help but recognize the significant role that taking risks has played in shaping who I am today. If I could hop into a time machine and have a heart-to-heart with my younger self, I would undoubtedly emphasize the importance of letting go of the fear of making mistakes and worrying about what others think. This realization has taught me that diving headfirst into uncertainty and embracing discomfort is where the magic happens – where our potential finds its wings.
I’ve seen the proof in my own life – stepping outside of my comfort zone and taking those leaps into the unknown has led to some of my most remarkable experiences and periods of growth. It’s like uncovering hidden treasures within myself that I didn’t even know existed. These instances of taking calculated risks have propelled me towards achievements I had never deemed attainable.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My journey with Zentap has been quite a ride, filled with moments of innovation and determination. What makes us stand out is our knack for blending digital solutions with the real estate world – it’s been a game-changer that’s reshaped how business is done.
Zentap started with a simple idea: empower real estate pros in today’s digital age. We saw the shift from door-knocking to online marketing and created automated software so realtors could focus on real estate while our tech handled the marketing side. We were among the pioneers who brought data-driven videos to the residential real estate scene – that was pretty exciting!
Our story began in a humble garage, making cold calls and listening to realtors. By the second month, we had more than 60 pros on board. The growth pushed us to refine our strategy on the go. With clients counting on us, we poured all our resources into building a team to scale up. Yes, we stumbled along the way, but each stumble was a chance to learn and get better.
The heart of our team’s success was our shared positivity. We powered through tough times, learned from the hiccups, and emerged stronger.
What I’ve learned boils down to this: Embrace change, take risks. If your current path isn’t feeling right, pivot. I want people to understand that they can break free from jobs or studies that don’t fulfill them and bet on themselves. The only thing holding you back is doubt. Zentap’s journey showcases the incredible power of taking chances and having faith in yourself.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Day 1 – Exploring Nature: Start the trip with a dose of nature at Runyon Canyon, where we can hike up to stunning viewpoints and get a panoramic view of the city. After a morning workout, we’d grab a bite to eat at a local brunch spot.
Day 2 – Beach Day:
Head to Santa Monica Pier and spend the day on the beach. We’d rent bikes and cruise along the boardwalk, grab lunch at a beachside café, and catch the sunset over the Pacific.
Day 3 – Outdoor Adventure:
We’ll start with a visit to Griffith Park, where we can hike up to the Griffith Observatory for stunning views of the city. After enjoying the scenery, we’ll head to The Trails Café for a cozy lunch nestled in the park.
Day 4 – Art and Culture:
Visit The Getty Center, an amazing art museum with breathtaking architecture and stunning collections. We’d have lunch at their café with a view.
Day 5 – Day Trip to Malibu:
Drive along the scenic Pacific Coast Highway to Malibu. We’d stop at Zuma Beach for a relaxing morning, have lunch at Malibu Farm Pier Café, and then visit the Getty Villa to immerse ourselves in ancient art and culture.
Day 6 – Shopping and Sunset:
Spend the morning shopping on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. For lunch, I’d take them to Urth Caffé for some delicious organic eats. In the evening, we’d head to Griffith Observatory for an iconic LA sunset view.
Day 7 – Sunset Strip and Nightlife:
Explore the Sunset Strip and West Hollywood area. We’d start with some shopping on Melrose Avenue, have dinner at a trendy restaurant, and then dive into the vibrant nightlife scene. We could try a karaoke night, hit up rooftop bars, or catch a live comedy show.
LA has so much to offer, from nature to entertainment to diverse dining, and I’d want my best friend to experience it all!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to give some credit to David Goggins, the author of “Can’t Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds.” This book has been more than just pages and words; it’s been a guiding light in moments when I needed motivation and perspective.
David Goggins’ memoir isn’t just a book, it’s a journey through his life that resonated deeply with me. His openness about his struggles with mental health and the obstacles he faced struck a chord, making me feel understood and less alone. What truly sets this book apart is the practical wisdom he shares for pushing past limits and taking control of your own mind.
Every time I flipped through its pages, I felt a surge of motivation to become the best version of myself. Goggins’ story reminds me that no matter how daunting the challenge, with unwavering determination and hard work, we can break through barriers we once thought impossible.
I want to express my gratitude to David Goggins and his book “Can’t Hurt Me.” This shoutout is a way of recognizing the impact he’s had on my journey, and I’m sure many others would agree – his words have the power to spark real transformation.
