We had the good fortune of connecting with Stefani Fryzel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stefani, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind building my creative coaching business continues to be based on my mission to nurture and support artists and creatives. I try to look at the gaps that aren’t being filled, and needs that aren’t being met, and create and curate new spaces that haven’t yet been carved out to start to tend to those exact issues. As an artist and songwriter myself who’s been in the music industry for almost two decades, I completely understand and resonate with the position of the people that I’m serving. In addition to launching my first book, “Self-Care for the Creative: A Survival Guide for Creatives, Empaths, and Highly Sensitive People,” I’m focused on hosting/curating events, workshops, and panels that provide artists and songwriters with what they need the most to support their career.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is a creative coaching company that helps artists and creatives to 10X their impact. My values have always been focused around personal growth and self-improvement and so I bring a lot of that into all of the work that I do. Every program, product, or service that I offer has been carefully thought out and offers something totally new to the artist, songwriter, or creative entrepreneur. I get really excited about things that have never been done before and being the first to do them so I try to use that as my barometer for everything.

For example, as a new up-and-coming artist or songwriter, it’s impossible to get in the room with a hit songwriter. So I created The Songwriter Series, an online platform that offers 1:1 music mentorship from hit songwriters. Participants get a chance to have their music heard, receive guidance and feedback on their songs, and get to be inspired and supported during the Q&A mentoring session. Similarly, I’ve created the Rewrites Masterclass, an exclusive online space where you can workshop your song with a hit songwriter. (Again, never been done). I’m also curating music industry panels to lift the veil on gatekeepers so making connections in the industry is easier for people to make. These are all things I wanted to make available to the general public so that artists/songwriters and producers can get the opportunities and support they need.

The best part? I pay every songwriter mentor that comes through my events. Songwriters have notoriously been underpaid and it’s become a really big problem for the songwriting community so making sure that each songwriter is being paid and compensated for their time and expertise became a big priority for me in terms of contributing to any sort of change. Whenever I’m creating something new, I make sure that there is a WIN, WIN, WIN for everyone involved. If it isn’t structured that way, then I don’t do it. Simple as that.

In the future, I’ll be focused on developing luxury creative retreats, a self-care product line, and expanding above and beyond into the creativity and wellness space.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Hike at Griffith Park. (Shower) then breakfast at Urth Caffe. Crystal shopping at my favorite crystal store SPELLBOUND SKY. More shopping at Westfield Century City. Spicy margaritas at Javier’s. Then head to Marvin for dinner to order the rigatoni bolognese. Best day ever. End of story.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes! Sara Connell, CEO & Founder of Thought Leader Academy has played a monumental role in transforming my life and activating my mission. She’s the one who helped me launch my first book, fine-tune my purpose, and elevate my business strategy, all while wearing six-inch heels! Seeing this example of powerful female leadership is exactly what’s helped me embody that for myself in the music industry.
