We had the good fortune of connecting with Stella Park and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stella, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I draw inspiration from a wide array of sources, including streetwear, celebrity fashion, vintage designs, and various forms of art. When I create my designs for MISENVER, my goal is to strike a balance between staying on-trend without being overly futuristic. I want my products to embody the qualities of both ‘Mischievous’ and ‘Versatile,’ which are the two words that inspired the name of my brand.

For instance, when I designed the Bunny Bag Charm, I envisioned it as a playful yet versatile accessory. It serves as a sunglass holder for bags and can also be used as a bag charm. Moreover, I included a hook at the bottom to provide customers with options for hanging small accessories such as keys or AirPods. My designs are a reflection of everyday casual chic with a touch of fun and adaptability, and I’m continuously influenced by the ever-evolving world of fashion and art.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve chosen to focus on this question because my passion lies more in the realms of art and fashion than the conventional business and firm categories. My goal is to create designs that not only stand out but also offer a unique blend of style, comfort, and environmental consciousness. I see fashion as a form of wearable art, and I strive to make it accessible and timeless.

Art, in my view, shouldn’t be overly extravagant or eccentric. I believe in the beauty of modern, casual designs that can serve as living art pieces for people – something that remains eternally appealing.

Furthermore, we are deeply committed to the sustainability movement. Exploring eco-friendly materials is at the core of our brand. One exciting example is our work with marine leather, a material upcycled from discarded fish skin, which was originally waste from a restaurant in Lyon, France. Through the efforts of a French tannery, this waste has been transformed into exquisite marine leather, which we’ve incorporated into a card case design. This is just one example of our dedication to sustainable fashion, and we’re excited about the prospect of designing more such products that not only resonate with our customers but also contribute to our planet’s well-being.

In essence, I want the world to know that MISENVER is more than just a fashion brand; we are a bridge between art and sustainability. We’re dedicated to creating artistic and timeless designs that harmonize with the environment, making a positive impact on the world of fashion.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting California for a week, I’d make sure they experience the best the area has to offer. We’d kick off the trip with a surfing lesson by the stunning California beaches. After working up an appetite, we’d head to ‘Rockin’ Baja Lobster’ in Newport Beach, a personal favorite. Their seafood bucket is a culinary delight, overflowing with a delectable mix of seafood and meats. The sweet butter paired with tortillas is an absolute highlight. It’s the perfect way to indulge after a day of fun in the sun.

This experience is just the start of a week filled with exploration, great food, and unforgettable memories. California’s beaches and seafood are just the beginning of what this vibrant place has to offer.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Honestly, when I was starting my business, there was more discouragement than encouragement. However, I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my family, especially my children, who have been a constant source of encouragement, strength, and belief in my dreams. I wanted to be a proud mom for them, and they were always proud of me, introducing me as ‘my mom, she makes bags,’ and even knowing all the names of my bag designs. Their unwavering support and belief in my abilities kept me going.

Additionally, whenever I faced discouragement, I often thought about the encouragement I received from my mentor and former boss in Paris, Eunhwa. She always believed in my design capabilities and would tell me that I’m a great designer. Her words of encouragement were a powerful force, reminding me that even a single word of support can outweigh thousands of discouraging voices. Their belief in me has been instrumental in my journey, and I’m grateful for their unwavering support.
