We had the good fortune of connecting with Stella Yang and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stella, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind the success of TUXIE LUXIE is my love for my little boy Tuxedo. The mission for creating this brand is to enhance the human/pup connection as a life style. With that in mind, my pay close attention to the needs on both the pup and human, from daily walks in the park to destination travels. My products are thoughtful, on trend and intended to create memories that would last for a lifetime.

What should our readers know about your business?
TUXIE LUXIE IS LOVE. This is a true love affair. I am inspired by my little Maltese, the brand’s muse, Tuxedo, to create the whimsical, limited-edition designs for human’s best fur-iends. The love for my little boy gave me an idea to build a collection that is curated and thoughtfully crafted. Most importantly, it’s all about human/pup connections.

TUXIE LUXIE products are made with extra love. I hope to enhance the special bond that every “pawrent” has with their furbaby. Made with the pup’s lifestyle in mind, we source only the softest fabrics that can withstand all every pup’s daily adventures—whether rolling in the mud, brunching on the waterfront, shopping in Paris or napping on the couch. Our Collection is gender-neutral, can be worn year-round, machine-washable and made in the USA, focused on comfort and fit. We cater to toy/small breed dogs as well as all pups.

TUXIE LUXIE’s north star is to foster social connections amongst furbaby pawrents while at the same time supporting animal rescue organizations. A portion of TUXIE LUXIE’s annual profits will be dedicated to animal welfare organizations which is the social issue that I most care about.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

I live in Manhattan. It’s the place I call home since 2000. Here are a few of our favorite things:

1. Morning walks along the New York harbor. Seeing the Status of Liberty from the distance and check out the cityscape downtown Manhattan.

2. Murals and artsy store in the East Village.

2. Brunch at the Odeon in Tribeca.

3. Yappy Hours at Central Park. There are so many different dog meet groups that happens in Central Park every day.

4. Window shopping and cruising along the iconic Fifth Ave. It’s super dog friendly.

5. Stroll along the Museum Mile and watching Yellow Cabs speeding by. We love hanging by the fountain in front of The Met listening to the sound of water drops.

6. Spend sometime in Soho people watching.

6. Evening drinks by the Seaport. What’s better than sipping cocktails on the waterfront in an open air setting?

7 Dinner at Dante’s in the West Village..

8. Grab a cup of coffee and take a few snaps with your BFF in front of the “Friends Building”.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
