We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Geismar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always loved fragrance since I was young. I get it from my mother. Over the pandemic, I spent my time watching videos on fragrance and learning everything there is to know. After a while, I thought to myself, “wait a minute…I could make these videos!” My goal initially was to just enjoy myself and have fun! I love educating people on fragrance and helping them become empowered by it, the same way it has empowered me. Although it has turned into something more tangibly lucrative, I still see my small business as passion and enjoyment, in addition to a community I hold dear.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
In my professional life, I am a therapist working for a community mental health agency. I work with people of all ages, demographics and struggles. Because of my background in psychology and mental health, I like to think that I bring a different perspective to my content creation. To me, fragrance isn’t simply for the sake of vanity and beauty. Fragrance is also about empowerment, mindfulness and exploring the power behind our senses. In difficult times fragrance can be a huge source of comfort, as it has been for me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love showing people around my city!! I was born and raised in Los Angeles and I want to live here for the rest of my life. When people come to visit me, I always take them to Santa Monica, a beach day and exploring the pier is a must. Then we can go for a drive around Beverly Hills to see the gorgeous mansions and walk down Rodeo Drive (to pretend we can afford the shopping). I love a good boozy brunch at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood, drag shows are such a vibe! One of my favorite restaurants is Crossroads Kitchen, they have incredible vegan Italian food. At night, I usually take people out in Downtown for dancing or a show at Academy LA or The Reserve.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My closest friend Caroline played a huge role in my current successes. She has a very large following on social media and was the one who encouraged me to start my own channels. She taught me all the tricks of the trade and has been incredibly supportive. She celebrates my wins as if they were her own and is an amazing friend.
