We had the good fortune of connecting with Stevie Fury and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stevie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
At the time we started Fury Bros. back in 2015, my brother, Jeremy, and I were touring with our band, Jeremy and The Harlequins. In the cities we played we would often stop into small boutiques and shops, picking up candles, soaps, etc., along the way. Back then we didn’t see many things geared towards men, so the idea to create our brand emerged. It just came together perfectly as something to work on and keep us busy while not touring.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Besides the products we make for our own brand, Fury Bros., we’ve been incredibly happy to collaborate on candles and soaps for Antique Archaeology (the store of the History Channel’s “American Pickers”), and bands including Smashing Pumpkins, The Grateful Dead, AFI, Jerry Cantrell, and many others. Being musicians as well, it’s cool to work in other avenues in that business and to create merch for bands we love and respect.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In LA Little Tokyo is always a good time. Daikokuya for ramen, Sushi Go 55 or Sushi Gen for sushi, a little karaoke, and some arcade games to round things out is the way to go. For some fun drinking, La Cita downtown or Club Tee Gee, rum drinks at Tiki-Ti, and wine at Covell. Jitlada for Thai food is always great for some spice, and if you ever need a sweet treat, Butter Cake Shoppe will do ya right. A visit to the Planetarium always blows the mind and is a must. Besides that, just hanging with friends on a cool night is the best way to spend time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our family and friends have supported us from the get-go. My wife, Lali, helped pour the first few-thousand candles when we were starting out. Many of our friends acted as guinea pigs as we worked out new formulations of our Power Wash soaps, and our parents, as parents do, always are eager to spread the word of the company. We have to thank those closest to us for their never ending support.
