We had the good fortune of connecting with Stryfe and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stryfe, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Because we had to. Each of us has an undeniable need to write, record, and perform. Without doing so, the glass is only half full. We believe that art, in our case music, has regenerative qualities for the artist. Throughout life, everyone accumulates both negative and positive energies, through music, we’re able to express ourselves, and balance out the negatives and positives to protect ourselves from anxiety, depression, etc.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The majority of the band is originally from Armenia, and this plays a fairly significant role in the sound of the band. We work towards blending traditional and classical Armenian music with the metal genre; however, we also make sure that all these Armenian musical elements remain subtle and not overt.
We’re most proud of having released our debut full-length album entitled Cursed Theatre which is available on all streaming platforms. It certainly was not easy to write, record, produce, and release the material. All aspects were a challenge, and the way to overcome these challenges is to remain committed to the effort without distractions.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The venues on the Sunset strip are a great place to hang out and listen to up-and-coming musicians, it’s a lot of fun.
The Huntington Library’s botanical gardens are a great place to relax.
Manhattan Beach and the Santa Monica pier are great places to see the ocean.
The Getty Museum is certainly very special.
The Mexican & Mediterranean food in LA is spectacular.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We’re very lucky to have incredible friends who consistently help us in our creative endeavors. In particular, the below:
