Meet Suzie Sandoval | ZEN Meditation Teacher, Sound Healer, Holistic Professional Organizer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Suzie Sandoval and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Suzie, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
A need for work-life harmony inspired my business after working in the corporate environment for over 10 years. Early into growing my business, I began interviewing women entrepreneurs in a YouTube Series called, “Redefining Success”. I had experienced success at a young age yet was not fulfilled or happy and couldn’t understand why.
My work has taught me the importance of living and working in environments surrounded by people, places, and things that support our best selves. I now live on land surrounded by 360 degrees of nature, a small town community that cares for each other and the land we share, and my nutrition and exercise habits have become simplified, whole, organic, and honoring my deepest needs for nutrition and nourishment.
As I’ve slowed down my lifestyle gradually over the years, I am now able to be present in my relationships, with my clients, and in all aspects of my life. I”m conscious of the new life I am creating and I’m committed to living with integrity whereas before life was too noisy, stressful, distracting, and energy-consuming. I wasn’t able to focus on the future because I was drowning in the past spending time on things that didn’t matter and weren’t my priorities.
I’ve become a minimalist over the course of 13 years working as a professional organizer and now integrate holistic healing practices to empower my clients to create space for the new while redefining what matters and letting go of all that no longer serves them too.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Often times we think of organizing as a physical project. However, decluttering and organizing can be a creative process that allows you to transition from an old state of being to a new one.
Kind of like when you wear an outfit that makes you feel amazing our spaces do the same.
“When we take care of our things, our things take care of us.”
It can be difficult to let go of old identities and for our loved ones to accept the growth and changes that are happening from within. Anytime we are creating space for the new there are going to be challenges, difficulties, and breakdowns along the way. One of the biggest challenges was deciding whether to let go of my business or continue to grow.
I ended up taking some time to re-evaluate my vision, mission, values, and purpose for my business, and it was always in service to something greater than myself. There have been many times I’ve been down on my knees praying for guidance and allowing myself to be open to breakthroughs and blessings.
As the challenges in my business and life created more pressure I had to learn how to allow myself to feel the fear, the stress, the anxiety, and yet by applying the core teaching of my own work, I”m the ultimate student and teacher of this work, I’ve been able to empower myself to preserve through incredibly difficult times. For example: One of the ZEN meditations is focusing on the energy of empowerment. I have 7-visual cue cards the size of business cards that represent one of the 7- Energies of ZEN for Harmonious Living. The symbol for empowerment is a lion and the color is yellow which is associated with the power of the sun. When I begin feeling the pressure I begin my meditation practices tuning in to the frequency of empowerment, kind of like tuning into a radio station. Empowerment is all about taking inspiring actions despite fear. It works wonders for calming the nervous system so I’m able to be open and receptive to new possibilities that when stressed I’m closed off to.
The core benefits of my work are teaching my clients how to tune into their Inner ZEN Power by creating sacred spaces externally and internally despite any challenges, distractions, and breakdowns they are experiencing personally or professionally with intentional living practices. We accomplish this by becoming clutter-free mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. My uniqueness is I provide sound healing as a remedy for transformational healing.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Griffith Park makes for a great hike, plus it’s close to the observatory where you can see a view of the iconic city landscape. I’d recommend stopping by Kreation to grab a ZEN bowl that tastes like Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream except all of the ingredients are good for your body. I’d recommend dipping your toes in the cool ocean walking along Manhattan Beach then driving to Palo Verdes to watch a spectacular sunset along a cliffside ocean walk. If you enjoy art I’d highly recommend visiting the Heiroglyphs of The Soul, an exquisite art home in Malibu by the Famous Actor Leigh McCloskey. There are many gems to share, here are one’s I’d recommend for now!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to give a Shoutout to Kyle Cease. He is a transformational healer that brings laughter and joy to tough topics. His “Evolving Out Loud” work has been instrumental in my journey.
