We had the good fortune of connecting with Sydney Chase and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sydney, what role has risk played in your life or career?
When it comes to risks, I think they’re a really important factor when it comes to progressing within business and life in general. My first order for my business, was a larger quantity and was a big risk. Putting out a lot of money when you only have a dream and a vision, can be pretty scary but you have to believe in it and take the risk. This risk particularly ended up to be one of the best decisions I’ve made this far. Without risk there’s no reward and thankfully I am still seeing the rewards from this. I always tell others even if that risk doesn’t turn out how you hoped it would, you can always take the learning aspects from it and it will always be a gain for you.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been modeling full time for 6-7 years, and a year ago launched my first product/business Bodied By Chase. It took some time to get where I am today, being a business owner isn’t something that’s easy. It takes work, focus & dedication. I believe timing is everything, so I think it all happened at the right time. I’ve learned so much within the last few years and being a mother to my 8 year old truly gives you that push, to be all you can be.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When it comes to the best places in LA, it can vary. Those not from/living in LA always want to go to the known hot spots in Hollywood. So I’d try to cater towards that. We would eat at restaurants such as, Nobu Malibu of course, Il Pastaio, and probably Cecconis. For drinks/hang out we could go by Tao or Delilah, and Fleur Room is also a fun new spot. Lastly I’d make sure we stopped by the Santa Monica pier, and beach as well as going on one of the many hikes around LA; like Topanga or Runyon.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
When it comes to support, I definitely have to give thanks to my mother and my daughter of course. From the beginning they saw and supported my vision. Currently I fill the bottles all myself at home, and my mother and daughter love to help me with that as well as other ins and outs. Having someone/people around you that support you is really important in my eyes, I think eventually it can make or break you.
