What you are most proud of or excited about.

I am most proud to be a first gen college graduate and the first author in my family. I published my first book with Fearless StoryTellers: When The Souls Cries.

Over the past 8 years, I’ve impacted the lives of 5,000 children, young people, women, and family lives all over the world through my professional work and businesses. I’ve hosted 3 women’s retreat serving over 50 women, 20 events serving over 500 people. I also launched a pilot mentorship program with 15 women. I’ve served on the board of directors for multiple nonprofit organizations.

I was chosen by Southern New Hampshire to be a part of their 2022 Marketing Campaign. The production team did a 2-day film to share her story to the world.

How did you get to where you are today business-wise.

I started my entrepreneurial journey at the age of 26 years old. I received my first grant for my nonprofit organization called H.Y.P.E-Helping Young People Evolve. I’ve raised over 150,000 in grants, monetary donations, and in-kind donations for other organizations and my businesses. I’ve managed a $600,000 grant for a nonprofit organization. I had a mentor that guided and taught me a lot about nonprofit management. I also knew that I wanted to be a Founder of an organization. When I was 23 years old, I interviewed with 20 Executive Directors of various organizations to learn about the nonprofit world, their journey, and challenges that they faced. I attended a lot of networking events to connect with like-minded individuals and individuals who knew more than me.

In 2016, I received the Youth Leadership and advocacy Community Impact Award from Emergence Community Arts Collective in Washington, DC. In 2018, I received the Best Mini-Grant Recipient for H.Y.P.E from Far Southeast Family Strengthening Collaborative. I was also featured in RallyUp Magazine and spoke at many events about my story.

In 2019, I was accepted into the Chains & Change: African Social Justice & Entrepreneurship (South Africa) Study Abroad program at George Mason University. In 2020, I graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with my MBA- Master of Business Administration with a 3.9 gpa. I was inducted into the National Honors Society as well. I launched my podcast UnLock’N Your Freedom. I interviewed 10 women entrepreneurs during season 1. I have over 400 plays.

Entrepreneurs Network, Cooper Consulting, and ImanT Clothing. I recently merged all of my businesses into one entity called UnLock’N Your Freedom which allows me to make a bigger impact in business and life coaching industry. I am excited about taking my business to the next level.

What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way.

1. Be Confident In YOU. Confidence starts with self-love. You have to be able to trust your own judgment, skills, and abilities. Your worth depends on how you feel about yourself which will reflect in your relationships with others. No matter what others say about you, you have to believe in yourself.

2. Be Comfortable with Being Uncomfortable. Everyone will go through uncomfortable situations. We have to get used to being outside of our comfort zone. It’s the perfect way to grow and develop skills that will help you navigate professional and personal situations.

3. Take A Risk. My biggest risk was my biggest blessing. It’s not easy to take risk. However, you don’t want to live a life saying ‘I should’ve’ did this or that. We take risk everyday with jobs. Why not take a risk and do something that you are really passionate about.

I love to go to the museums and trying new restaurants. I love finding good happy hours as well.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank my friends, family, and supporters for being apart of my journey. My mother, Stephanie Davis has shown me the truth definition of resilience and perseverance. My fiancé, Craig Cooper always supports me and pushes me to be in the moment. I appreciate all my sistah friends who pour into my growth and vice versa.
