We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Draak and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I created Reframed Loungewear, There wasn’t too much thought process that went into the brand itself it was the whole meaning behind the brand our why. For the longest time I knew I was put on earth for a reason, Everyone has a purpose its just if your willing to find it and how you find it. Mine for example was helping others, from the time I was able to speak my thought/ frequency behind everything was to help others and how its going to impact others.
During the process of me figuring out what I could do to make my brand grow and succeed was figuring out what people could relate to and seeing if it would relate to something I struggle with. I struggled with mental health from the time I could remember and even with the biggest smile in the room somehow I felt the loneliest after feeling this emotion I knew I wasn’t the only one battling with the same thing. So I built the first ever sensory hoodie 4 years ago at the age of 22. Our hoodies are imprinted with rubber detailing and lifted smileys on each cuff to act as fidgets in anxious and overwhelming spaces. This was created to help me as I get uncomfortable in social settings and wore rings to help with my fidgeting when feeling that emotion. Each set has affirmations amongst the hoodie to remind you to reframe you’re thoughts by the way you look at scenarios, that’s exactly how we got our name, Reframed loungewear.
We built this brand through community and letting people know they are not alone and we are one space that’s always open for conversation.
I am proud to say I have helped thousands of people fighting the same battle and i’m proud to have created a space others feel safe, this is just the start of my helping journey.
So overall the purpose of my brand was easy it was only easy because it was something I loved to do and Knew this was all apart of my journey. It was for all of you

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets reframed apart from other brands/ companies is the meaning behind our brand the why. We created a product that could relate to others and we formed a community by doing that. We took our struggle to get uncomfortable knowing that being uncomfortable telling my story might help just one person. It was letting people feel safe in something they might feel uncomfortable speaking about. Its understanding your not alone fighting your battles. Im extremely proud of myself that I got the courage to speak about my own mental health and realized I helped many along the way being open about my own struggles. In which on my darkest days the community I built would turn around and help me without even knowing it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My formula for a perfect day is starting off strong at a cute coffee shop, I always need my little caffein fix if that’s a iced oat matcha with maple syrup or a hot oat with honey matcha, you will always catch me at a cute coffee shop. One of my favourite things to do is finding coffee shops around the city. After that I love a good farmers market run, love getting all my produce from the local farms and supporting small. If there’s time where hitting a pilates class or a walk around water. Nothing makes me happier then being around water.
I love the most simple things with the people I love.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
When I created this journey for myself I had an Overwhelming amount of support from the community around me, My friends and family were the strongest back bone I had. keep In mind I had no idea what I was doing when it came to business let alone CLOTHING so yes lots of mistakes on the way but they were always there to say keep going and that’s exactly what I did.The fear for failing should be your biggest motivation, without failure there will never be success without trying you will never know the outcome. I can’t ever give enough thanks to my friends who believed in me every step of the way, the ones who stayed up packing orders with me, the endless shoots and promoting me and my business whenever they had the chance.
Forever grateful to everyone who saw the meaning behind reframed. I am extremely lucky to be able to do what I love and it wouldn’t be the same without our community.
