We had the good fortune of connecting with Tesheara Nelson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tesheara, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
In our community, we prioritize creating a safe and inclusive environment where people can freely express themselves. We believe in the power of genuine connections, and our goal is to bring together artists and non-artists alike. When you attend one of our FUSION events, you can expect to engage in meaningful conversations that have the potential to lead to various positive outcomes. However, the most significant outcome we value is the opportunity to establish lifelong connections based on who you are as an individual, rather than what you can offer. We believe in fostering connections that go beyond superficial interests, focusing on building relationships grounded in authenticity and mutual understanding.

What should our readers know about your business?
FUSION was always an idea of mine to bring people together in a space of support. It was meant to provide artists with a safe and intimate environment to share their talents and connect with their audience on a deeper level. For a while, FUSION remained just an idea, as I didn’t want to rush the process.

After collaborating with Merci on a different project that didn’t work out, we decided to continue with FUSION. We believe that FUSION came to fruition because we needed that spark to set the idea in motion.

We quickly organized our first event within a month and hit the ground running. As FUSION started to grow, we realized that our community was not only beneficial for artists but for everyone seeking a sense of community.

Since then, we have maintained our original purpose while expanding it to cater to individuals looking for connection and support. We have created a safe and intimate environment for our community to build meaningful relationships through conversations, support, collaboration, and more.

Although we have faced challenges, they have been manageable. FUSION is still in its early stages, and we are learning as we grow. However, leaning into our community has been crucial in overcoming these challenges and continuing to thrive.

We aim to be an example of the power of leaning on those around you. By creating a space filled with individuals you respect and appreciate, you can expect the same in return.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you happen to be in the city while FUSION events are taking place, it is definitely the place to be. You can expect a vibrant atmosphere filled with delicious food, refreshing drinks, and exciting people. FUSION events are all about having a great time, but with the intention of fostering genuine connections that go beyond transactional interactions.

After spending a week immersed in the FUSION community, you’ll likely be thrilled to share your experience with others back home. You may even feel a strong desire to return to the city and bring others along to experience the sense of community and connection that FUSION offers.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We are immensely grateful for everyone who has believed in the vision of FUSION and has contributed to its success. Our community thrives because of the support and involvement of individuals who have attended events, purchased tickets, shared our existence with others, and engaged with our content.

I would like to take a moment to recognize and express our deepest gratitude to the individuals who have been with us since the very beginning – my mom Wanda, dad Ernest, sister Shelissa, Brandon, and Tati. Their unwavering support and dedication have been instrumental in the operations of FUSION and have played a crucial role in our success. From the first event onwards, their contributions and belief in our community have set the tone for FUSION and have been essential in shaping our trajectory. Their support means the world to me, and I am deeply grateful for their invaluable contributions.

Additionally, I would like to extend our appreciation to the talented artists who made our first event happen – Kaedi, MaryShe, IV, Pastel Papi, Forest Ripperton, Eimizah, Sumrr, Rigel Crux, Bri, Cam, Sage, and Bishop. Their passion and creativity have added immense value to FUSION, and we are grateful for their contributions in making our events a reality.

Furthermore, I would like to give a special shoutout to Merci, the CEO of AWC. His contributions to FUSION have been immense and have greatly influenced our growth. His dedication of time, effort, and resources to the events has been significant and will always be a huge component to its success.

Lastly, I want to acknowledge and appreciate our team, whose dedication and hard work have made the orchestration of our events more efficient and have added tremendous value to the FUSION experience.

We thank everyone who has been a part of our journey and has helped FUSION become what it is today. Their support and contributions are deeply appreciated.
