We had the good fortune of connecting with Theo Okuribido and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Theo, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of FryDay Food Truck is our unwavering commitment to delivering a consistent and exceptional experience to our customers. From the very beginning, we understood that consistency in flavor, value, and service would be the cornerstone of our brand’s identity and success.

1. Flavor: We take immense pride in the quality and uniqueness of our menu. Each dish is crafted with high-quality ingredients and a blend of traditional and contemporary culinary techniques. Our consistent focus on flavor ensures that every bite meets our customers’ expectations, keeping them coming back for more.
2. Value: In today’s competitive market, offering great value is crucial. We ensure that our customers receive generous portions at reasonable prices, making every visit to FryDay a worthwhile experience. This commitment to value helps us build long-term relationships with our customers.
3. Service: Exceptional service is at the heart of what we do. Our team is trained to provide friendly, efficient, and personalized service to every customer. We strive to make each interaction memorable, ensuring that our customers feel valued and appreciated.

By maintaining high standards in these three areas, we’ve been able to create a loyal customer base and a strong community presence. Our consistency in delivering what we promise has been instrumental in building the trust and reputation that FryDay Food Truck enjoys today.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve spent more than half my life in the food business, and my journey has been a tapestry of diverse experiences that have shaped FryDay Food Truck into what it is today. My career began in sales and then the kitchen, where I honed my culinary skills and developed a deep appreciation for flavor and presentation. Over the years, I transitioned into restaurant management and then to commercial high-volume kitchen management. These roles provided invaluable insights into operational efficiency, team management, and the intricacies of running a successful food service business.

What sets FryDay apart is the fusion of these rich experiences with a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. I’m most proud of the strong, dedicated team we’ve built and the vibrant community we’ve cultivated. Using my skills from years in the industry, along with my background in coaching, I’ve been able to build a cohesive team that thrives on collaboration and excellence. This ability to connect with staff and customers alike has been pivotal in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment at FryDay.

The path to where I am today hasn’t been easy. There were numerous challenges, from navigating economic uncertainties to managing the complexities of running both food trucks and a ghost kitchen. However, perseverance and an unwavering attitude of gratitude have been my guiding principles. Embracing each challenge as a learning opportunity and maintaining a positive outlook has been crucial in overcoming obstacles.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of staying true to your vision while being adaptable. The food industry is dynamic, and being able to pivot and innovate is essential. Another vital lesson is the power of community and support – from my family, my team, to our loyal customers – their belief in FryDay has been the wind beneath our wings.

What I want the world to know about FryDay is that we are more than just a food truck. We are a celebration of Los Angeles’ diverse culture, a beacon of community spirit, and a testament to the power of passion and perseverance. We aim to bring joy and connection through our food, one fry at a time, and we’re excited for many more years and fries to come.
