Meet Thibaut NOGUES

We had the good fortune of connecting with Thibaut NOGUES and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Thibaut, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
My sport career is an artistic way where I constantly need to be creative, and I love that.
I choosed this way because I’m an outsider, my sport is an artistic sport the goal is to mix performance and style, both are important. To be artistic with a motorcycle you must be creative, it’s important to be visible and it helps me to grow my business.
I created a character “Mr Nogues” he is the James bond of the motorcycle world, I did 3 episodes on Youtube with millions views. Mr Nogues is a mix between drift performance, style and classy ride on a motorcycle My goal was to be different from the other Freestyle Riders, to show to the brands, sponsors etc that freestyle motorcycle can be a classy sport and interesting for their promotion
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m Freestyle rider since 15 years now, I started by “Stunt riding” the goal is to do tricks on a motorcycle, wheelie, stoppie, drift etc.. Competition are a bit like Figure skating, it’s about 3min run on an asphalt rectangle where yo must do your best tricks with style and performance without crashs.
I compete until 2017 and I started to do only Drift riding, I’m still riding Stuntriding for shows and content, but now I’m focus on performing on racetrack with my Drift bike.
Motorcycle Drifting is like MotoGP but on sliding way, the goal is Drift faster possible but doing the show with nice slide, Drift and smoke tires.
I’m pro rider since 7 years, it wasn’t easy, it’s lot of work and it not easy to have opportunities with brands/Sponsors But I knew how to be different, I used my character Mr Nogues to be the motorcycle james bond, that hekped me to be on the lights.
In 2019 I signed with the prestigious Motorcycle brand Mv Agusta Motor, I was factory rider during 3 years. I remember what said to me the CEO of Mv, Timur Sardarov first time I met him, he told me “Thibaut I’m not super fan of the Stunt riding, but you’re different you are a dancer with a motorbike”. My goal with Mr Nogues has been achieved.
During Covid years, my business model has changed, we were without competitions without shows. It wasn’t easy for the business.
I always was self-taught, I learned alone how to create content, photo and video. My business model until Covid was to do Freestyle shows around the world but during covid years I start to change it and create content for brands, content for social media and advertisements.
My strength is that I’m the rider, producer, and art director, I know how to use cameras and how to edit. So in 2024 I decided to create my own production Agency: Just ride.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
