We had the good fortune of connecting with THIRDPARTY and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi THIRDPARTY, what role has risk played in your life or career?
We’ve all had to approach taking risks in our own ways. Dedicating our lives to our artistry is a risk in and of itself, not knowing whether or not the time we’ve invested will pay off. All we can do is have faith in ourselves, our talent, and each other—which we do—so we can share what we love with the world. The three of us all come from very different backgrounds, and each took a risk to invest in our skills at 1500 Sound Academy, which brought us to each other. and gave us THIRDPARTY. We’ve had some of our most fun moments taking a chance to make it happen for our career and hope to keep reaping the rewards of being open to where life takes us.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What excites us most as artists is how our music resonates with our audiences. Every time we perform it shows us that people are just as excited about what we’re doing as we are. We get to explore different genres and styles together while maintaining our sound, and it refreshes others as much as it fulfills us. It’s been such a journey to get here. Mental health challenges like depression, anxiety, and imposter syndrome and self-doubt as artists are things that we’ve had in common. While we all come from different home lives, we share a motivation to take care of those we love. Individually, we’ve each had to find our sounds as artists, which has made us a much stronger group. Our belief in ourselves and each other allows us to freely give affirmations that carry over into our music. We want the people who party with THIRDPARTY to feel like they have a home with us.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Tsunami is the LA native, so he can take the lead on this one. If you’re looking for a good time, he’d recommend Dublin’s and Blue Moon Hookah Lounge in Downtown LA, or Yamashiro in Hollywood. AYN would take his friends to the classic must see spots like Santa Monica Pier and Universal Studios, or Venice Beach. Nalaé is from New York so she’s still getting to know places, but has taken friends to Griffith Park & Observatory, and out to parties like CutiesLA and EveryDay Ppl.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I mean first and foremost we have to shoutout the family at 1500 or Nothin, who have connected us with opportunities we’ve only dreamed of. We also owe a huge shout out to Kai Music & Arts and AJ Causey for helping to put us in front of new audiences and fans and giving us the chance to do what we truly love—performing. And lastly, thank you to all of our friends, family, and new fans who have been supporting us so far on the journey. We can’t wait to make you proud.
