We had the good fortune of connecting with Thomas Sahagun and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Thomas, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
You can’t give up, if you give up the dream you have will never happen that’s really the only way a dream you have is impossible. No dream is ever impossible, it’s supposed to be hard, if it was easy everyone would do it. So I never give up, I always find a way rather if it’s talking to someone getting advice on how I can make my goal possible, even if it’s just for confidence. The key is never giving up

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I began my production under “Sahagun Films Production” back in 2021 and changed the name to “Elite Films Production.” I changed the name because I didn’t like the sound of Sahagun Films Production. It made it sound like it was all about me and I wanted something that involved EVERYONE from our actors, to our crew, and team. I knew we had the team because we all came together to make good films, I saw this team as elite and hard working which led me to the name “Elite Films Production.” We have been up and down, it hasn’t always been easy. We went from very few actors, no crew, no team to meeting some amazing talented artists that helped grow our production. There has been time where a cast member doesn’t show up to the set leaving us in the dark, but we always adjust the script right then and there, and film anyways. Nothing stops us from filming, we might have those little set backs, but we pull together as a team and find a way to create great stuff anyways!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to Pismo beach and visit my favorite two restaurant which is Giuseppe’s Pizza the worlds best pizza ever and Brad’s Restaurant where they serve the most delicious Tri-tip Sandwich with their B-B-Q sauce. The weather there is always perfect, its small but one of the best places you can visit for sure.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Chris Crofut who was just an actor in a film of mine not only turned into one of my best friends but also a brother. He’s been involved in all my films. Its been amazing having someone with his acting skills in my projects, as well as our weekly podcast “Undeniable”

My sister Lisa Oliveira who is a real estate agent, has been one of my biggest supporters giving me the confidence to chase after this dream of mine in the film industry.

Brian Poth who mentored me before I ever got in the film industry. He showed me so much when it came to how to correctly write a script, how to find actors, and how to film the right way. He was a big inspiration of mine, so having him be a mentor of mine, meant the world to me.

My dad Carlos Sahagun who has had my back since day one also believed in me. My dad is my super hero, someone who has taught me that if you want something that bad, you have to work for, he showed me what hard work and dedication is.
