We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiara Ivette and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiara, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Honestly, the habits that I think help me succeed the most even to this day is praying and working towards a goal right after. I always believed that you’re rewarded for hard work. I also have a habit of telling myself that everything will work out even in dark times when I can’t necessarily see a positive outcome. It helps me stay positive in all situations that come my way. I heavily rely on faith and hard work. I often get carried away with ideas though, so having rest days and giving myself time to take a break is also very important to me and something that I make priority.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think the hardest thing for me is trying to describe my “art” because it’s gotten to the point where I wake up one day and I have a photoshoot to be at by 8 am and by 2 pm I’m packing orders for my own business to ship out or thinking of what video to make next or what I want to design. I would love to be known as a creative force who tried everything. I think being myself 100% of the time is what sets me apart, anything from me is my original ideas and experiences. My main business is House of Venom which began as an accessories line my senior year of high school and has now evolved into clothing and as an outlet for me to express my talents. I’m most proud of how much my business has grown with me. The road to where I’m at now was nowhere near smooth since I had to teach myself everything there was to know about running and managing a business. I learned that consistency in anything that you do can really lead to success. I’d like people to know that House of Venom isn’t just cool hoodies and accessories, it’s a form of expression for me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Monday I would take them to 27 Club Coffee in the flats (My favorite coffee lounge) for lattes and for dinner go to a sports bar called Mulberry’s for their delicious half-off Hawaiian pizza (no ham) with an extra side of their special sauce. Tuesday I would take them to the Cleveland Museum of Art, it’s so inspirational and you notice something new every trip.
Wednesday I would go to Mitchell’s Ice Cream and get them my absolute favorite milkshake combination, Cookie Dough and Caramel Fudge Brownie always topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
Thursday I would take them to lunch at the Half Moon Bakery on W.25th and introduce them to beef Argentina empanadas.
Friday I would take them rollerskating at Pla-Mor with my sister and I.
Saturday we would go bowling at Corner Alley downtown and explore the night scene in the flats.
Sunday I would let them bear witness to a true Self-Care Sunday in my household which includes Netflix, facemasks, and laundry.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a shoutout to my mom and grandmother. They’ve supported me so much since I was a tot, every audition, every photoshoot, every art show, they were there to support or DRIVE ME lol! I’d also like to shout out my grampy who is my guardian angel who has guided me every step of the way.
