We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Leonardo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Work life balance took on real meaning in my life when I experienced burn out. It happened at a time where I was doing yoga 5-6x a week, working 11hrs days at my corporate job and teaching 1-3 yoga classes a week. Admitting I was a stressed out yoga teacher was a harsh reality, that I had to come to face with. My body’s experience with burnout, was a frozen shoulder and shooting pain in my neck. In the simplest of activities like washing my hair, I had to ask for help.

My body being immobile, was when I decided I needed to truly seek out work life balance. I shifted from “doing” Yoga to “being” Yoga, by incorporating the Yogic philosophies and inspirational themes on self care from class, actually into my lifestyle. Taking those practices off the mat, are when I really started experiencing the true benefits of Yoga! Fast forward 4 years later, today I am much more mindful of my self care AND still remain a student. I now view work life balance, more as work life BLEND

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
CommUnity is in my blood and is what sparked my journey! From NYC to the South Bay of LA, there’s a trail of inspired, empowered and energized individuals I’ve been blessed to touch. I’ve felt called to spread mindfulness like confetti through Yin Yoga and Crystal Sound Healing! As a trainer in Medical Device, I closely understand the challenges of remaining present (anyone else on the struggle bus when it comes to meditation?!); I share the teachings that have guided my journey including Yin’s slow, intentional movement and Sound Healing Meditation (which has personally helped me quiet my mind).

I enjoy supporting students on their own journey, through connecting them with their intuition using oracle cards. My journey started with a Yoga community and has expanded into the podcasting world, where I host the “Be You Too Full” podcast.

Regardless of the environment, my dream life is to support others in exploring their fullest selves through a relationship with their mind, body and soul.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Top of mind, is Catalina Island! It’s paradise right outside of Los Angeles. The trip across the ocean is refreshing and grounding. Docking on to shore is your first taste of this ultimate escape. There are so many beautiful way to experience the island and witness your stress melt away.

Visiting the Channel Islands is another divine escape from reality!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This Shoutout goes to my boyfriend, Matrix! He’s the talented photographer/videographer behind my work (and so many other inspirational entrepreneurs), he’s been a supportive partner as I navigate bouts of self doubt and an intellectual human that reminds me of ways to expand my thinking. This one’s for you boo!
