We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany R. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I was born and raised in LA to a family of Iranian parents who moved here when they were young to escape the dangers of the Iranian revolution, especially since they were targeting Jews. As I grew up I continued to have that vigor to move forward through the challenges of life. Since the age of 9, I’ve been enamored by social media. My original plan was to go to law school to satisfy my family’s expectations and make all the sacrifices that they’ve made for me worth it. In the Jewish Persian community, generally, there are two paths med school or law school. However, COVID was a wake-up call and I decided I wanted to work in social media and defy the norm. I have the best of both worlds now I work as a creator and get to enjoy all the fun aspects of being creative and also work in social media marketing representing people like me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve been on social media for half of my life as a viewer, someone who looked up to a lot of these social media personalities. Content creators would often lift my mood when I was feeling down. However, there was a disconnect. I want to break that disconnect. I want to make sure every one of my community members feels seen and heard. I want my content to make them feel, whether it’s through making them happy, making them feel less alone about a situation or even being heard. I essentially learned everything on my own about how to be a creator; with some minimal research. I had to build my connections with fellow influencers, models, creatives, and brands from the ground up. Especially at a time when we as a society were recovering from what COVID had done to our communities and all the change that surrounded it. Despite it being difficult to grow, I’ve never let that deter me; even when the numbers are down. There is always going to be someone out there whether it’s a community member or brand that finds you of value even when you’re not at the peak of your career. I’ve learned that just doing what you do best, and being you is what matters the most. I want people to know that if you enjoy something, please never give up. Because of that, I’ve been able to work with some of the coolest brands like Eos, Topicals, and Strawberry Shortcake, as well as many other amazing brands. I’ve been able to connect with some of the most wonderful people; and have even created my own LA creator community. Being a creator has even brought me insight into working with creatives like me as I see the challenges of this industry and how social media doesn’t get the same benefits or rights that mainstream jobs provide.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting, I’d make sure she experiences the best of LA. For a beach day, we’d visit Laguna or Newport, enjoying smoothies while lounging on the sand, soaking up the sun and ocean breeze. If she preferred staying closer to West LA, we’d head to Malibu, where we could shop and dine at Malibu Country Mart after taking in the stunning coastal views on PCH.

For shopping, I’d take her to Century City Mall, a massive space filled with an array of stores and some of LA’s best food options, from chocolate-dipped waffles to fresh pasta and gelato. Culver City Mall would offer a more casual but still vibrant shopping experience. We’d also visit Melrose Trading Post, one of LA’s iconic open-air markets, where she could discover unique vintage finds, local artisan goods, and cool collectibles—perfect for browsing on a Sunday.

For a foodie experience, we’d hit Sawtelle, the go-to street for people in their 20s, offering a wide range of Korean, Japanese, and Chinese food (and shopping). I’d also take her to UCLA, my alma mater, for a peaceful picnic on the picturesque campus surrounded by lush gardens.

We couldn’t miss hiking Runyon Canyon, one of LA’s most popular trails, with breathtaking views of the city from the top. Afterward, we’d head to Little Rodeo Drive for photos and enjoy the chic boutiques and restaurants nearby.

Lastly, we’d explore any pop-up shops or creator events happening during her visit. LA always has something exciting going on that offers a truly one-of-a-kind experience.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this to my amazing family, friends, and community members. Although I’ve worked hard, I wouldn’t be where I am without them.
