Meet Tirzah Morataya

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tirzah Morataya and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tirzah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Dancing was my passion! I started my business in 2012 with the love for dance so I started teaching 18 & 15th birthday parties (Waltz and Hip Hop performances). As years went on, clients started asking me for more services and from there I started my event coordination/ choreography business!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My entire career I was always involved in food industry. I grew up learning how to run a business from the ground up. I remember that I would sacrifice my holidays, going out with friends and miss out on memories for work. I’m happy to say that it was worth it! It was hard but once I learned how to balance my time to be there when it matters most. I always told myself to always work hard and keep on going! There were many moments in my career that was completely silent.. no clients, constant work and no rewards. Most people would tell me to take a break and let clients come to you. The silent times were one of the scariest times for me.
Nonetheless, I persisted! I kept trying new trends, finding new ways to attract more clients and 13 years later my business is still going strong! Stepping out of my comfort zone was a constant battle but growth always overcame that fear.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I was born and raised in Southern California. I would always bring my guests to al my favorite restaurants (fine dining to casual sit downs), bars and sights.
Some of my favorite places would be in Koreatown, Rowland Heights, Temecula and Long Beach. Culture is everything in South California. Whether it’s in nature or at well known shopping center (Grove), So Cal offers so much.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout to my friends and family who continued to believed in me and always brought me up when I was down! Special shoutout to Dana and JC for being my rock in everything I do!
