We had the good fortune of connecting with Todd Franklin II and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Todd, how do you think about risk?
I embrace risk. If I hadn’t taken risks in my life, I would be a very boring person. Bravery is something I’ve always aspired to embody. From moving out of my home state at 22 to organizing a protest and running for public office at 23 to starting a business in Los Angeles at 25, all of these things required me to have faith and take risks.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The company is Cali Avenue Promotions LLC. We are an Event Planning & Promotion Company based in Los Angeles. Our events range from artist showcases to themed music nights to sports parties. We offer event hosting and promotion along with graphic design services. Cali Avenue Promotions is a subsidiary company of Cali Avenue Co. Cali for us stands for Creatives Always Live Infinitely. We believe creative works live beyond the creator and are one of the few things in the universe that withstand the test of time. Cali Avenue Promotions goal is to curate quality memorable events that bring the community together in a positive way. We also want to work with local businesses and help increase revenue as well as attendance to further show our commitment to our community.

It is not hard nor easy. It’s work at the end of the day but it’s very rewarding work. We help indie artists get a platform to showcase their talent as well as helping local businesses. It’s all very rewarding.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’d definitely have to go surfing at one of the beaches in LA like Manhattan or Sunset Spot. Grab some great Mexican food from Tacos El Goloso. Go to Hollywood and see the stars on Hollywood Blvd and maybe hike up to the sign.
