Meet Tom Hunter | Artist, Illustrator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tom Hunter and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tom, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve been drawing since I was a little kid. When I was at school, painting was my favorite subject. After high school, I went to college and chose to major in fine arts, watercolor. I remember that when I was studying, my notebooks for other subjects were constantly painted. Thankfully, the teachers knew my major and did not scold me. After that there was a long search for myself, but throughout the time I was drawing. It was the only thing that was always in my life. In 2019, I started studying digital art. I took various courses, I built up my hand, I studied.
Now I continue to develop as an artist, drawing, creating projects.
Creativity for me is a place where I am me. In it I can feel myself as organically and comfortably as possible.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe that every artist is different. It is clear that we all receive information from the world around us. But by passing it through ourselves, we get a completely individual, original creative result. I am only at the beginning of my journey, I would like to do more, better, more interesting. I am glad and proud of myself that I have familiarized myself with digital art and began to develop in it. It was difficult for me to switch from traditional creative techniques.
It was not easy to learn creative software. Now I don’t think I know enough. So I continue to learn new things and develop different aspects of my professional activity.
It is normal to face difficulties. I think if you go through them confidently it raises your level. I am motivated by the desire to do more interesting work. I get pleasure from it. So, the road will take one who walks. I think so
I would like people to like my works, to enjoy them. To feel an emotional connection with them and their energy.
An artist feels that. I would be pleased if my art gives someone the opportunity to feel the emotions necessary for themselves
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love parks, beaches. It’s simple. I think the city will create its own atmosphere.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
It could be a variety of things. I am grateful for the support and reassurance of people close to me. My mom, my girlfriend, my friends. They have supported me throughout my journey and continue to do so. It’s important when one has a backbone, especially in difficult times. I am also grateful to my teacher, who at one time persuaded me to choose a creative specialty in college.
And I would also like to thank myself. In spite of various difficulties in life, I have not put down my hands and continue to move doing what I love to do
I also remember the moment when, at the age of 6 or 7, my grandmother started buying me coloring books about fine art. Even then she saw that I had an attraction to it. So I would like to thank her as well. She is probably the first person who started to motivate and support me. I would like to thank her and wish her good health.
