We had the good fortune of connecting with Tosin Oladokun and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tosin, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I think for me, risk taking has always been something I shied away from when it came to me and my personal success; growing up I was always one who colored inside the lines; a rule follower. simply because it was easier, less disappoint when things go south. I never really betted on myself because I was worried and fearful of failure. It took me a very long time to understand that failure is apart of the process to success and failing at something doesn’t always have to be a negative and so bleak. So as I go through each day, I definitely am learning to invest in myself now so it’ll pay off long term; because no one will invest in you the way you will invest in yourself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My journey as an artist has recently expanded into a new and exciting venture: my tooth gem business. This fresh endeavor brings a unique blend of creativity and self-expression to my portfolio, and I’m thrilled to see where it will take me.

What sets me apart is my passion for the beauty found in the unexpected and the small details that make a big impact. I am inspired by the idea that a simple accessory like a tooth gem can become a statement of personality and confidence. I’m proud to offer clients a unique way to express themselves through these tiny, sparkling embellishments.

Getting here has been far from easy. Starting a business always comes with its challenges—whether it’s sourcing high-quality materials, finding the right clientele, or mastering a new craft. I have learned the importance of resilience, the value of genuine connections, and the power of perseverance. Every obstacle has been an opportunity to grow and refine my skills, to be more creative, and to think outside the box.

The world should know that my brand is about more than just adding a little sparkle; it’s about celebrating individuality and empowering people to feel confident in their unique style. I hope my story inspires others to take bold steps in their creative journeys, just as I am taking in mine.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m defintely no expert of LA, but If my best friend visited LA for a week, I’d start with brunch at **République** and a hike to the **Griffith Observatory**. We’d explore the **Hollywood Walk of Fame**, then have rooftop drinks at **EP & LP**. We’d bike from **Venice Beach** to the **Santa Monica Pier**, shop on Abbot Kinney Boulevard, and dine at **The Butcher’s Daughter**. We’d dive into culture at **LACMA** and the African American Museum of Art, then grab lunch at **Grand Central Market**. To wrap up, we’d do a sunset picnic at **El Matador Beach** and explore hidden gems like **Little Tokyo** and **Echo Park Lake**. A perfect mix of fun, food, and culture!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are lot of people who have played a huge factor in my journey. But, my family has definitely been a consistent for me and they teach me something new about myself every single day. The most important people in my life. And then friends as well. My genuine friends are such significant people in my life and they teach me a lot about the world we live in and who I want to surround myself around. There’s a lot of
people that I want to recognize but they know exactly who they are and I extend a some credit to them.
