Meet Tracy Komlos | Co-Founder of The Multiverse

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tracy Komlos and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tracy, how does your business help the community?
At my company Pangea Dreams, we lead educational retreats for women entrepreneurs and thought leaders all over the world. We gather together like-minded women and empower them to realize their fullest potential by teaching them how to start, launch, and scale their own digital businesses. For years, we traveled to places like Bali, Mexico, and Greece, with a shared intention to learn, get inspired, and be part of a supportive community. To really experience something that was bigger than ourselves. We’ve had to pause with the pandemic but building the company and our community continues to be one of the most impactful and rewarding experiences in my life. Everyday, I get to see and hear from so many women who experienced our retreats, truly living the lives they had once dreamed of.

I took the lockdown and space it provided as an opportunity to pivot towards another big passion of mine — mushrooms! As co-founder of The Multiverse, we’re building the world’s first online marketplace for highly-curated functional mushroom products. Our goal is to be an education-first brand and company that empowers people to take control of their mental and physical well-being through the fantastic powers of the fungi kingdom. These powerhouse plants have the potential to heal our bodies and our planet. Psychedelics are being used for everything from treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, anxiety, and addiction to other mental health illnesses. We want to serve as a strategic ally to the incredible work that’s being done in the booming psychedelics space. We’re seeing trials and clinical work that is changing lives. We are proud to be a part of spreading this message far and wide, so that people who are suffering can learn that there are other ways to treat what they’re feeling and going through.

What should our readers know about your business?
At The Multiverse, we truly believe that mushrooms can save the world. Mushrooms are trending, and they’re here to stay. Fungi is the future of wellness! By educating people on the power of mushrooms, while also making them more accessible and approachable, we can disrupt the traditional healthcare industry. As the first marketplace for high-quality functional mushroom products, we had to create the first-ever standards for the sacred kingdom, and we hold all the products we feature to them.

We’ve had an incredible year and I wouldn’t have gotten here without my team and our advisors. We’re navigating a new industry that’s seemingly booming overnight! I’ve also had to get really good at always following my intuition and listening to my gut. Constantly checking in with myself and asking how my decisions and the individuals around me are making me feel. This has been my compass and guiding light throughout my life both professionally, and personally. Your intuition will never steer you in the wrong direction. Tap into it and listen closely!

Challenges in business are inevitable. I overcome them by having a strong mindset. I never look at anything as a failure, but rather an opportunity to learn and grow. I embrace challenges and obstacles as lessons that are helping me grow into the best version of myself.

I’ve also learned to not worry about what other people are doing. Focus on your strengths and lean into your community. When you compare, you’re taking focus and attention away from what really matters. I’m collaborative and am constantly looking for ways to uplift, support, and work with others. I believe that we can all rise together. It starts with shifting your mindset from scarcity and fear to one of abundance and love. Collaboration over competition, always!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
LA is filled with amazing places to visit and all kinds of easy day trips! I recommend spending a day in Malibu. Start off with a hike at the Morning Solstice Canyon, then head over to the Little Beach House for lunch and enjoy the rest of the day relaxing at the beach.

If you have a whole weekend, go spend some time in Joshua Tree and the Palm Springs area. Explore the beautiful landscape and watch a breathtaking desert sunset. Explore the city of Palm Springs and dive into all the mid-century charm this magical place has to offer.

If you’re keeping it local, I love the Santa Monica Farmer’s Market on Wednesday mornings, and the Flea Market on Sunday is a must for your great vintage finds! A trip would not be complete without a stop by Erewhon in Venice for a healthy lunch and delicious snacks, shopping on Abbot Kinney, and then heading over to the beach for a beautiful sunset.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, my parents for their unconditional love and support. I’ve chosen a somewhat unorthodox path that has been a bit unpredictable. Knowing that I’ve had their full support throughout my journey, while I experimented, explored and put myself out there, has been truly instrumental.

Being an entrepreneur is so much about mindset, so I want to give a shoutout to two books that have really changed the way I look at things and how I show up in the world: Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now, and Michael Alan Singer’s The Untethered Soul. These books have helped me realize that the only thing that is important is the present moment. That we must not live in the past, or live in the hopes of the future, but in the now. It’s a challenge and a lesson shows up in everything I do.

Lastly, the power of community. Between my Pangea Dreams family and my personal community in NYC and LA, I’m grateful to be surrounded by so many supportive, inspiring, and like-minded people who are go-getters, living life on their own terms. When you’re surrounded by that kind of energy, your own energy amplifies tenfold, and you realize just how limitless the opportunities around you are. That’s when the magic happens! Spend time with people who help you shine your brightest and you’ll become the best and most vibrant version of yourself.
