We had the good fortune of connecting with Trent Longo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Trent, why did you pursue a creative career?
I spent enough of my time doing what I was not meant to do, to know what I was truly meant to be doing. It was just a deep sense of feeling like I wasn’t living in alignment with my soul.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
A complete love and dedication to the craft of acting has brought me back time, and time again. I truly think the first steps were playing pretend as a kid. Those were my first acting experiences, and it was that ability and the enjoyment of convincing myself I was someone else in a distant land that I was craving every time an opportunity to act came across my path. From middle school plays on I was pretty hooked, and that has never died. There are always a million little steps that get us to where we are, and it’s never easy, but the important thing is to just keep stepping where you can see and ask questions to qualified individuals along the way. Others will guide you.
When it comes to my music it’s relatively similar in the sense that I started writing lyrics at the age of 7. I always felt drawn to expressing and releasing my emotions through music, and that is what my songs have become. A true genuine extension of my wit, determination, and inner feelings to the world. Sometimes I am writing the songs for myself, to remind myself who I am in my most confident moments too. I do it all because I love to do it.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I have a friend in town, we are going to Bludso’s BBQ. Its straight up, delicious Texas BBQ in L.A. and you can’t beat that in my opinion. I have looked far and wide, and Bludso’s is by far the best. I should probably mention I have no affiliation with that restaurant, but it just hits the spot so I have to mention it. Personally I like walking Hollywood boulevard, but I think that is just because it is so iconic. The beaches are great too, people should probably be showing me around at this point instead.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout is to my parents, and family, who have always encouraged me to follow my dreams through everything. Their words of encouragement have gotten me through some of my toughest times.
