We had the good fortune of connecting with Trey Braheem and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trey, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea for our business came from discussing with my partners what sorts of experiences we felt like were missing from the social landscape in Los Angeles. We were trying to find a place where the music was right, the environment was comfortable, the people were open, and the space was dynamic. We’d go out looking but we never found a place that checked every box – so we decided to create it ourselves.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We have three separate businesses under one roof. It all started with MELT, a house music party that brings together music, art, and community to create a unique environment for people to explore. After popping up in various locations for about a year, we decided to get our own space.

This kicked off Our Studio – an creative canvas for productions and events. We offer our clients a space to bring their vision to life, no matter how eccentric. What makes Our Studio unique is we focus on servicing independent creators who push boundaries with their work, offering a “no-rules” approach and flexible pricing for various budgets so that their vision can find a place to exist in an otherwise overpriced market.

And finally, within the building we occupy we also have a separate space for Agora, a dance music-focused record store and fine art gallery, where we curate a refined selection of music, art, fashion, and products.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many great places in LA to eat – but if I had to narrow it down, I’d choose Bavel, Holbox, Kato, Destroyer, Amboy, and Le Great Outdoor.

For drinks, we’d head to Apotheke for cocktails, and Foxfire Room for that classic dive experience.

And to hang out – we’d spend a lot of time at MELT and Agora, because the environment we’ve created is the one best suited to our taste!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout goes to my incredible business partners – Jared Friedrich, Eduardo Joo, Chae Joo, Luke Johnson, and Nicolas Pera. Without their creativity and passion, the world I live in would be far less interesting.
